Life & Work with Sara Park of Cerritos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Park.

Hi sara, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My path into acupuncture wasn’t something I carefully planned from the beginning. I am Korean, and I studied traditional Chinese medicine in China before coming to the U.S. as a student. At the time, I simply wanted to continue learning and practicing the medicine I had studied. In the early days, my motivation was very simple — I hoped that I could help people live a slightly more pain-free life.

That perspective became much more personal after I became a mother. Healing stopped feeling abstract and became closely tied to everyday life. I began to understand health as the ability to function, care for family, and move through daily responsibilities with less discomfort and more stability.

Opening a practice and treating patients came with challenges. There were moments of uncertainty as I navigated systems, built a clinic, and learned through experience. However, through the trust of patients who continued to believe in me, and through steady growth and ongoing development, I was able to keep moving forward. Their long-term support is what made it possible to reach where I am today.

Today, I run Faith Acupuncture Healing Center, serving families in the Orange County and neighboring LA communities. I value long-term relationships with my patients and see the clinic as more than just a place for treatment. It is a steady presence in their lives — a clinic they can return to for care, guidance, and support through different stages of life. What began as a simple desire to ease pain has grown into a practice centered on consistency, trust, and meaningful connections within the community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t always a smooth road. In the beginning, there were days when only one or two patients came in. Even during that time, I focused on being grateful for each person who trusted me and on doing my best to support their health and quality of life. As I continued practicing with that mindset, word slowly began to spread, and the clinic grew naturally into what it is today.

Opening a clinic also overlapped with major life changes. I experienced pregnancy and childbirth while running the practice, and there were periods when balancing everything felt challenging. During those times, I was deeply grateful for patients who waited, supported me, and continued to trust the clinic. Their understanding and encouragement meant more than I can easily express.

Looking back, those experiences shaped the foundation of my practice. I didn’t grow alone — I grew alongside my patients. We moved forward together, and that shared growth is something I continue to value deeply as the clinic evolves.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work focuses on supporting people whose pain or health concerns affect their daily lives, especially in cases where answers are not always clear. I often work with patients who experience chronic or unexplained pain, individuals navigating fertility challenges, and families seeking care for their children. In many of these situations, patients come in feeling unsure or frustrated after not finding clear explanations elsewhere.

Rather than focusing on quick solutions, I take time to understand how each condition impacts a person’s routine, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. My approach is grounded in listening, consistency, and supporting function over time, allowing care to evolve as patients move through different stages of life.

What I value most in my work is building long-term relationships. Many patients return not just for one concern, but during different seasons of their lives — whether for pain management, fertility support, or pediatric care. I see the clinic as a steady place they can rely on, one that grows alongside them.

What I’m most proud of is the trust built within the community. The practice didn’t grow through rapid expansion, but through word of mouth, continuity, and showing up for patients consistently. That long-term trust and shared growth are what truly define my work.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I appreciate most about this area is the strong sense of community and balance. Orange County and the surrounding LA areas are family-oriented, diverse, and welcoming, which makes it a comfortable place to live and work. People value relationships, consistency, and trust, and that aligns closely with how I approach my work and daily life.

It’s also a wonderful place to raise children. There are so many opportunities to spend time outdoors — parks, beaches, and family-friendly spaces — which makes everyday life feel fuller and more enjoyable. And of course, the weather hardly needs an explanation. Being able to enjoy time outside year-round is something I truly appreciate, both as a parent and as someone who values balance.

I also appreciate the opportunities here, both professionally and personally. Being surrounded by people from different backgrounds and life stages has allowed me to continue learning and growing. Honestly, there isn’t much I dislike. Life can be busy at times, but overall, it’s a place where I feel grounded, supported, and grateful to call home.
