Meet Dr. Azita Sayan of Embrace Growth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Azita Sayan.

Hi Dr. Azita, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born & raised in Tehran, Iran in a Jewish family. Growing up I was hurt by the religious and gender inequalities & prejudice I experienced. My parents chose to send me to Europe & then USA to provide me with opportunities for equality and freedom from persecution and abuse. In the my boarding school I was date raped. Being a virgin; I began an emotional, mental, behavioral downward spiral internally while all the time pretending my life is perfect. This was the beginning of my journey to seek answers to heal my pain and trauma.
I failed at most of my relationships since any intimacy posed a threat to my fragile mask of perfection.
I now look back at all my challenges, heartbreaks and failures as gifts that I cherish.
I am married and have an extraordinary relationship for the past 29 years.
I lead a global transformational educational company, have written two best selling books, and have an international following exceeding 2 million.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not by any stretch. From religious and gender persecution, to molestation, physical abuse, to rape, bulimia, abortions and immigration… my life has been a fantastic journey of challenges.
