Community Highlights: Meet Margot Del Rey of Sisterhood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margot Del Rey.

Hi Margot, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my career in the high luxury fashion industry in Paris, working for houses like Dior, Saint Laurent, and Louis Vuitton. I loved the creativity, the pace, and the precision, but when I moved to California in 2016, something in me began to shift. I trained as a yoga teacher, and opened my own consulting studio, worked closely with creative consumer startups, and slowly started paying attention to a deeper calling: supporting women.

Everything changed when I became a mother. My first traumatic belly birth and postpartum experience cracked me open in a way I did not expect. It was vulnerable, overwhelming, and transformative all at once. I realized how little true support existed for mothers, especially in those tender first weeks. After my son was born, I trained as a postpartum doula and began hosting small gatherings in my home: mothers, babies, tea, yoga, honest conversations. That became the seed of Sisterhood. In 2020 Sisterhood became a support text hotline for mothers and when I was about to receive funding to take it to the next step the country shut down. I put my project in pause to focus on my family.

In 2022, after a magical VBAC with my daughter, my passion for birthwork grew even stronger. I continued my education, became a Certified Lactation Counselor, deepened my Ayurvedic studies, and expanded my offerings to include birth preparation, lactation support, postpartum care, ayurvedic bodywork and pre/postnatal yoga.

Today, I support families in Los Angeles and virtually worldwide through Sisterhood, a blend of doula care, lactation support, yoga, warm oil bodywork, community circles, and simple, nourishing guidance for modern mothers. My work is rooted in what I needed myself: softness, clarity, empowerment, and someone who truly shows up.

It has been a winding path from fashion to birthwork, but looking back, it makes perfect sense. The attention to detail, the love for beauty, and the care for the client experience all came with me. Motherhood gave it meaning. Sisterhood is where all those parts came together.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I launched the first version of Sisterhood right before Covid, and when the pandemic hit, I shut everything down. Around the same time, our visa changed. We are French, and the new visa did not allow me to work in the United States. I had this clear calling to support mothers, yet I was suddenly unable to work at all. It was incredibly discouraging.

When I finally relaunched Sisterhood, I was also back in school studying lactation, raising two young kids, and navigating the LA fires that happened right after I started again. I had very little childcare, and I learned to work in small pockets of time wherever I could. Finding clients in the beginning was not easy either. I had to learn how to talk about my work and put myself out there on social media even though it never felt natural to me.

And of course there were moments of impostor syndrome. Coming from the fashion world, I had to rebuild my confidence and trust that my training, my experience, and my heart for mothers were enough.

All of these challenges shaped Sisterhood into what it is today. They made me more grounded, more resilient, and more committed to creating real support for mothers.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Sisterhood is a modern doula practice that supports women from preconception to menopause, with the heart of the work centered on pregnancy and postpartum care.

My approach is holistic, evidence based, and deeply nurturing. I draw from my training in lactation, Ayurveda, yoga, newborn education, and luxury. I never look at anything through a single lens. Everything is connected, and my work reflects that.

I am known mainly for my Ayurvedic bodywork, Le Soin. It is a warm oil ointment that supports the nervous system, digestion, circulation, and emotional grounding. I offer Le Soin twice a week in office at Berlin’s Wellness Group, and I also bring it to families in the comfort of their home. It is one of the most loved parts of my practice, especially for pregnancy and postpartum, because it helps women feel grounded, calm, and deeply cared for.

I am also known for Sisterhood Notes, which is something I created to extend the experience beyond our sessions. It is a pocket book stored right in the notes app of your phone. After every visit, I document everything we worked on and add personalized notes, resources, and guidance so you can revisit it at any time. My goal is self efficiency, not codependency. I want my clients to feel clear, supported, and empowered with tools they can keep forever.

My offerings include birth preparation, postpartum doula support, lactation counseling, Ayurvedic inspired treatments, newborn education, private yoga, and long term support across from trying to conceive to perimenopause. I will also do labor support for clients who book me for postpartum care.

What sets Sisterhood apart is the combination of high touch care, thoughtful details, and an aesthetic that is soft, modern, and refined. My background in high luxury fashion shaped the way I think about the client experience. I want the support to feel elevated and beautiful, but also grounded, warm, and very human. Mothers often tell me that working with Sisterhood feels like being met exactly where they are, with gentleness and clarity.

Most of all, I want readers to know that Sisterhood was created so women never have to walk these seasons alone. This work is personal to me. It is intentional, heart centered, and designed to help you come home to yourself.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me in a few different ways, depending on the season they are in and the kind of support they are looking for. I work privately with families through pregnancy, postpartum, lactation, newborn education, and long term support that spans from preconception to perimenopause. thay can book trhough my website withsisterhood.com, email me [email protected] or dm me on instagram @with.sisterhood.

I also offer birth prep, labor and postpartum doula support, lactation counseling, and private yoga – and all of that can be booked trhough my website.

For collaborations, I love partnering with wellness practitioners, birth workers, brands, and creatives who care about supporting women with intention and integrity. I collaborate on workshops, events, talks, educational content, and experiences that bring softness, clarity, and community to mothers.

People can support Sisterhood by sharing it with someone who may need this kind of care, or simply by following along on social media where I share glimpses of the work. Community truly shapes Sisterhood, and I am always grateful when people help the work reach mothers who might be looking for support.
