Rising Stars: Meet Jericho Hatch of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jericho Hatch.

Hi Jericho, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up as a quiet, shy kid who never really knew how to express myself—until I discovered magic. What started as a simple curiosity quickly became the first thing in my life that made me feel confident, creative, and alive. I practiced in my room, performed for family, and slowly realized that magic wasn’t just a hobby for me—it was a calling.

As I got older, I carried that love for magic with me, even while working different jobs and trying to figure out who I was supposed to become. Over time I realized that the thing that always stayed consistent was my passion for creating unforgettable moments for people. Magic became the bridge that helped me step out of my shell, meet people, and build real connections.

Eventually, I made the decision to fully pursue magic as a career. I built my brand, Jericho the Magnifico, from the ground up—performing at private events, corporate parties, weddings, and anywhere I could bring people joy. The more I performed, the more confident I became, and the more I saw the impact I could have on people. What began as a shy kid’s escape evolved into a professional career that now supports my family and gives me direction and purpose.

Today, I’m continuing to grow as a magician, an entertainer, an entrepreneur, and a family man. My journey is still being written, but everything I’ve learned—from discipline to creativity to resilience—comes from choosing to believe in myself and the craft that changed my life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth. I didn’t grow up with confidence or a clear path—being shy made it hard to put myself out there, especially in an industry built on performing and connecting with people. Early on, the biggest challenge wasn’t booking shows or learning tricks—it was believing in myself enough to step into the spotlight.

As I started pursuing magic more seriously, I faced the typical struggles of building something from nothing: inconsistent income, learning how to market myself, handling rejection, and figuring out how to turn my passion into a real business. There were times I doubted whether I could make this a full-time career.

On top of that, balancing personal responsibilities with the grind of entrepreneurship has been tough. I’m building my career while also showing up for my family, staying disciplined, improving myself, and constantly leveling up the quality of my performances.

But every challenge forced me to grow. The setbacks made me sharper. The slow seasons taught me to be resourceful. And pushing through the uncomfortable moments is what allowed me to turn a childhood passion into a profession I’m proud of today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional magician and mentalist known as Jericho the Magnifico, and I specialize in high-end strolling magic and interactive stage performances for corporate events, private parties, and weddings across Southern California. My work blends sleight-of-hand, psychological misdirection, and modern showmanship to create moments that feel personal, impossible, and unforgettable.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people. I don’t just “do tricks”—I create an experience that feels custom to each audience. My background as a naturally shy kid helps me read people well, make them comfortable, and turn even quiet rooms into energetic, memorable environments. Every performance is tailored to the energy in the room, whether it’s a VIP lounge, a wedding reception, or a corporate holiday event.

I take pride in the professionalism, reliability, and polish behind my brand. From my presentation to my communication with clients, I treat magic like both an art and a business. I’m proud to have built my career from the ground up—booking recurring shows, performing for well-known companies, and continuing to grow through referrals and word-of-mouth.

What I’m most proud of is hearing from clients that their guests talked about the magic long after the event ended. My goal is always the same: create an experience that people remember for years, not minutes. That commitment to creating real impact is what defines my work and keeps me pushing to elevate my craft every single day.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising that most people don’t know about me is just how much my life offstage shaped the magician I am today. I used to be extremely shy growing up — the kind of kid who avoided attention and kept to himself. Performing wasn’t natural for me at all. What changed me wasn’t just magic… it was life.

My mother passed away from cancer, and that loss shifted my entire perspective. It pushed me to stop holding back, to stop waiting, and to start living fully. Magic became more than entertainment — it became a way for me to bring joy to others in the middle of their own storms, the same way I once needed it.

Most people see me performing confidently in front of crowds, but they don’t see the personal work, the discipline, and the emotional growth that got me here. They don’t know that every moment of connection I create comes from a place of wanting to make people feel something real — because I know firsthand how precious those moments are.

So the surprising truth is this: magic didn’t just help me find my voice… it helped me heal.
