Conversations with Kameron Walker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kameron Walker.

Hi Kameron , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Kameron Walker also known as “K-Stone”. Lived on the East Side of Watts off of 103rd & Paloma Ave until i turned 3 & moved to Carson Ca… Del Amo to be exact, where i was there for the rest of my child hood until i turned 19.

I grew up in a two parent household with my one and only sibling Karon Walker also known as “Beak” or “Beaky Beak”. We were athletes from 2- young adults. We played football for the one and only Carson Colts & ran for a track club called “Light Speed”. Playing baseball and basketball at our local parks , Mills Park , Anderson Park & Del Amo Park.

Highschool came and i stuck with it , playing football and running track. My Junior Year i was blessed to play in the Championship game against Crenshaw High at the Coliseum & Made it to the State Meet in the 4×1 in the same year ! My senior year we made it back to the championship ship in football playing against Narbonne High at East LA coming up short once again !

In the mean time , i started making beats my junior year as well on FL Studio. Music & Entertainment has always been something i had a natural love for ! I told myself if i didn’t receive a scholarship to play ball or run track , i wasn’t going to a JUCO & i was going all in with Music & Entertainment

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a rollercoaster. But such a learning experience ! Transitioning from a Athlete to An Artist is suchhhh a challenge because you have to now get people to believe your not a athlete anymore what youve always been known for & now be accepted and acknowledged as an Artist and or Entertainer. Folks who come from music backgrounds look down on you or don’t have much respect for you as an Artist because you have not been in that circle or in that world.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I rap, write, produce, creative direct & act. My first break and acknowledgement as an artist for the first time was with a single with my childhood brother who goes by “PUTYAHEARTINIT” which we formed a group called “Hearts Of Stone”. Around 2013-2014 we released a single “Work On You” ft Davion Farris, which was a summer record that had a dance & went viral immediately!
We then became apart of another group called “Non-Affiliates” which involved me, PUTYAHEARTINIT, Drop Beatz & HotHead. All from different parts of LA county & don’t gang bang. We opened up The Games sold out show at the Nokia Center on his Documentary 2 Tour ! Was able to perform infront of RedMan and Rockweilder in studio for a show that was coming out. Things didn’t last long but the memories forsure do.

Things changed for me when i released my first solo project in 2016 called “Off The Blocc 1994” which gave me the buzz i needed in the city for the city to start getting behind me. About a year or two later, “Hood B***h” ft Allie Kay who’s also from the Del Amo subsection in the city of Carson, was released and a bigger buzz was formed and for me , i finally feel like that was introduction to the game as now being a real artist !

How do you define success?
Peace to me is success. Self Awareness. Being Happy. So how i would define success… PEACE.
