Meet Monique De Leon of Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique De Leon.

Monique, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Southern California. I’m the youngest of 5 children. My father was an alcoholic, and my parents divorced when I was 7 years old. So, I was raised by a single mom. My mom had a very strong faith in God and passed that on to me. I saw a lot of miraculous things growing up, but I needed to discover who God was for myself. Not just because my mom believed. And I did. Fast forward to now. I am a worship leader, author, speaker and mentor. I travel throughout the U.S., as well as internationally ministering through music, speaking and teaching. I’ve been to 18 countries so far. I teach on singleness, faith, purity and boldness for Christ. My story is definitely a unique one, in that I am living out what I speak on. I’m 43 years old, never been and have no children, although I greatly desire both! I am still believing God for this prayer to be answered. My faith is high, and I want to encourage other singles who are feeling discouraged. I’m right there with you!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some of the struggles I’ve encountered is just getting the word out there. Podcast interviews have helped. But trying to get what I do in front of more eyes has been my biggest struggle. I know that I am a very particular niche.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The first book I wrote is called Pursuing Purity Under Pressure. I recognize the over sexualized culture that were living in right now, so I wanted to swing the pendulum the other way. I also created online courses that go along with the book.
I started Thriving in Singlehood because I saw the need to encourage Christian singles. In majority of churches there’s plenty of events, gatherings and ministry for every demographic except single people. Especially for ages 25-45. So, I wanted to help fill in the gap with a Mentorship Program and Conferences for Christian singles. Being a Christian single myself who is still believing God for marriage and children, I can fully relate!
I have a 4 song EP called Loyal, and sing for different churches, event, retreats, conferences and special events.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I am a mentor. So I would like to connect with others and encourage them, challenge them and inspire them.
