Today we’d like to introduce you to Faye Gedik.
Hi Faye, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Faye Gedik Photography
Weddings & Boudoir
My love for photography started in high school, in the darkroom, developing rolls of film from an old camera I barely knew how to use. Today, whether I’m photographing a wedding or a boudoir session, my work is still rooted in the same curiosity and appreciation for authenticity. I love empowering people, helping them see themselves the way others do — confident, radiant, and real. My goal is to create images that go beyond how things look, and instead capture who you are.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a business owner isn’t always easy. You quickly learn that it’s not just about doing what you love — it’s about wearing all the hats and figuring out every part of running a business, from marketing and finances to client care and creativity. There are moments of burnout and doubt, but also so much growth and pride in building something of your own. The pandemic was especially hard for me as a wedding photographer — with so many events canceled, my heart broke not only for my business but for all the couples who had to put their celebrations on hold. It was a tough season, but it reminded me how much I value connection, resilience, and the privilege of documenting life’s most meaningful moments.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in wedding and boudoir photography, with a love for images that feel moody, heartfelt, and timeless. My editing style stays true to color, but with a deeper contrast and light that feels cinematic and real. I’m probably most known for being easy to work with — my energy is calm and grounded, and I approach every session with the goal of making my clients feel comfortable, seen, and connected. What I’m most proud of is helping people feel good about themselves and creating an experience that feels more like spending time with a friend than being in front of a camera. I think that genuine connection is what truly sets my work apart.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The qualities that have been most important to my success are patience, empathy, and authenticity. Photography is so much more than technical skill — it’s about reading people, creating comfort, and being fully present in every moment. I think my calm energy and genuine care for my clients allow me to capture them as they truly are. I’ve also learned that consistency, resilience, and a willingness to keep learning are key to building something lasting. Every challenge, from running the business side to navigating unpredictable seasons, has shaped me into a stronger artist and business owner.
