Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina.
Hi Sabrina , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a professional hair and makeup artist for 17 years. I started in Northern California, doing theater productions, independent films, and fashion weeks — and even before I officially lived in Los Angeles, I would make the five-hour drive just to work on makeup jobs here. I always knew this is where I wanted to be.
Over time, my work grew from small productions to TV and film, conventions, and eventually celebrity glam. My greatest passion is the artistry itself helping clients look and feel their absolute best, while evolving each look to fit who they are that day. Even after all these years, I still welcome feedback because I believe great artistry comes from collaboration and making people feel truly seen.
I’m also known for my vintage 1950s aesthetic it’s timeless, glamorous, and rooted in the idea that confidence never goes out of style.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been a meaningful one. I never imagined that something I was so passionate about could truly become a career. For years, I saw it as something I loved not something that could sustain me long-term. But in these last four years, I can finally say with confidence that this is my career.
It took over a decade of dedication, sacrifice, and faith to get here. There have been plenty of highs and lows, and every year brings new challenges but I’m thankful for every single one. I literally track every job I do each year and compare it to the last to see how I’m growing, improving, and trending. It keeps me grounded and grateful.
This career is always evolving, and the obstacles never really stop but neither does the reward. Seeing someone look in the mirror and light up makes every hard moment worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Over my 17-year career, I’ve been known for so many different things. Early on, I was flying to New York for Fashion Week and working fashion shows in multiple cities and states. Then came the era when I was doing so many zombie makeups that I thought that was my entire identity for a while!
A few years later, I found myself creating Lizzo’s viral Baby Yoda Halloween look which was such a fun, surreal experience. But what I’m most known for (and most proud of) now is who I get to work with. I have the absolute honor of being the personal makeup artist for some of the most iconic 90s and 2000s stars , people I genuinely grew up watching on TV.
Getting to glam up the very faces that inspired me as a kid never stops feeling special. It’s full circle in the best way possible.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Honestly, my clients deserve all the credit. They’re my biggest mentors, cheerleaders, and inspiration rolled into one. Every single person who’s sat in my chair has taught me something about artistry, trust, and connection.
Their faith in me is what allows me to do what I love every day. Without them, I wouldn’t have the career I do now. They’re the reason I can proudly say I built a real career out of my passion and I never take that for granted.
