The collection of PARRISH sweaters is the DNA of my life as a PARRISH girl growing up with love, warmth, and passion, textured with memories both wild and sweet. a graceful culmination of my musings, missteps and mysteries
PARRISH is real…like me.
It is my personal wish to wrap others in sweaters that make them feel fierce with sensuality and opulence. the willingness to let go and live…and in all of that the courage to cry, dream, laugh and love.
this is PARRISH.
this is me.
this is the world that I live. in my life, in my dreams, in my everything.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have had a dream of this collection for three years, maybe longer. my mother and family taught me all about fashion through going to stores, not only clothing, but vintage, antiques, and trinkets, we chatted with the store owners, talked about the world and learned about life. so, the dream of this was always easy. my mother sadly passed away 3 years ago and the dream easily became a legacy I wanted to carry on and grow.
for this it has been a passion project that comes so easily. the emotion along the way has been the struggle. but the collection feels right and the growth plan will continue to be organic and natural.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the PARRISH story. Tell us more about the business.
PARRISH is a sweater company with the philosophy of ease of dressing with sensuality and love. each sweater has its own unique vibe. my specialty is creating the collection. I am the brainchild behind it, coming up with details, yarns, details, shapes and color palette. I am most proud of actually doing it! having a great team and loving what I do each and every day. I have a lot of experience in the fashion industry, so I can effectively receive feedback to make sure the collection is the best it can be.
What sets PARRISH apart is our story our vibe, and our effort to create a collection that a woman can wear from day to night, that she feels yummy, warm, protected and sexy in.!
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I have found that even the unlucky events that have happened in my life have been luck, because if you learn from then. You are lucky. my dad always told me that I have the ability to “get up, dust myself off and try again”. so, I take that motto with me wherever I go. Unfortunately, I have learned a lot from what I DONT want to be…so, that has made me a tad more graceful about my business.
