Conversations with Antonio Neville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Neville.

Hi Antonio, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I fell in love with comedy around 15 or 16 years old. I really didn’t dive deep into it until my college years when I became president of the comedy club at my school! As a teen, I studied theater, so with my theater background and love for comedy, I knew that I was destined for greatness. I knew I wanted to make people laugh and smile, especially during a time when we need it.

During COVID lockdown, people couldn’t leave their homes or see their friends and family, go to work or school and be around anyone. I wanted to give people hope by disrupting their fear at the time. I decided to turn to TikTok as the platform was really rising. I thought if I could take my background in comedy and theater to make people disassociate and laugh, I was doing what I was born for. I believe that laughter really is the best medicine and even though at that time we weren’t able to see those teachers, students, co-workers, friends… watching a video that reminded you of someone in your life in a positive way gave you faith. From there, my journey really began to explode.

Since 2020 I have gained over 6 million followers across all social media platforms, I have traveled for brand trips from some of the largest brands, I have started acting more regularly, and I have even been in talks to develop my own TV Show.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road, at all. The entertainment business is unpredictable. You could be cast for a role that gets cut, you could lose a brand deal due to budgets, and the content creation world is unpredictable due to the frequent changes in the algorithm.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a comedian, actor, and content creator. I keep my content relatable and as funny as possible, which has garnered a cult-like following, ranging from A-list celebrities to everyday people. I’m known for my unpredictable skits, grunts, relatable characters, and I keep true to my personality. I’m proud of the hard work and foundation I’ve built for myself. I strive to remain as grounded and humble as possible, so that I can connect with my fans and supporters on a human level, both on screen and in person. I believe that this is what sets me apart. I love being in the mix with them on a fun and relatable level.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My grandfather was definitely one of my mentors. He used to host events and had his own radio segment. I remember taking trips with him to the radio station from time to time as a kid and listening to him on the radio. My grandfather showed me what it meant to entertain in your own way. The way people used to enjoy the music he played, the way he brought people together through his music choice, his unforgettable laugh, and his catchphrases made me appreciate what he was doing. He was making a lasting impact on people’s lives, ensuring they would always remember him. I miss him and thank him for those experiences.
