Daily Inspiration: Meet Dina Crump

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dina Crump.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We are “Golden Padel”, a 1st USPA (United States Padel Association) Premier Community for 50+ Padel players. With 20+ years tennis background, Captaining, playing Tournaments & League, now that I got older I switched to Padel, the fastest growing sport in the Nation. It started when group were having a hard time finding people our age to compete with, unlike in Tennis they have Tournaments for 50+, 60+, 70+ etc. So I started Golden Padel, just like in Tennis we traveled to other Clubs and playing an InterClub. A couple weeks ago we played “Padel N9ne” in San Diego and “Padel California” in Oceanside. Tight matches, we lost 3-4 and lost again 4-5. What a fun & successful events!!

This coming weekend we’re playing another InterClub, this time against “Pura Padel” in Sherman Oaks & “The Padel Courts” in Hollywood. We are now getting requests from other Clubs to play them!
In October, we are going to Bali for a 3 weeks trips to play Padel and enjoying the islands. Eventually we will form a non profit organization to promote Padel all over the country, specifically for 50+ Padel players.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
None. It was a smooth road but with a lot of work and dedication..

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I studied Architecture in University, in my native country Indonesia. Moved to Los Angeles in 1988. I worked with my husband Engineering company for the first 10 years of our marriage, before starting my own Vacation Rental company, in Palm Springs, CA. Which eventually became a flipping houses company. Over 22 houses in total, throughout California, Nevada and Texas. My passion is always Architecture. It’s satisfying to see BEFORE & AFTER pictures. I have a few books to show it. And it doesn’t called “work” when you love what you do!

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Work ethic. Attention to detail. Get things done.
