Meet Monique of Monique Nardone Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique.

Hi Monique, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Monique Nardone began her formal music training at a young age, studying both violin and piano. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance, graduating with Honors in the Major from California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH).

A dedicated educator and performer, Monique has had the privilege of performing alongside her students from Palos Verdes Strings at the renowned Walt Disney Concert Hall in both 2011 and 2015.

In addition to her annual studio recitals, Monique offers her students opportunities to perform at a variety of distinguished venues. She is an active member of the Royal Conservatory of Music, the American String Teachers Association, and is a lifetime member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas—Los Angeles Branch.

Monique’s studio offers both in-person and, occasionally, online violin and piano lessons, providing a comprehensive and enriching music education experience for all ages and skill levels.

Outside of teaching, Monique donates her time performing with the Saved by Grace Band, a gospel group that performs at various venues throughout the South Bay. All proceeds from their performances go to support a soup kitchen in Bell Gardens that serves the homeless community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Teaching is a true passion of mine, so there haven’t been many struggles along the way. I genuinely enjoy what I do—each day is unique, full of new experiences, and always eventful.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Monique Nardone Studios?
Monique Nardone Studios (moniquenardone.com) is a private violin and piano studio located in Rolling Hills Estates, CA (90274). In addition to violin and piano, I also teach viola and work with students of all ages. What I’m most proud of is my ability to retain students for many years—starting from a young age and continuing all the way through to high school graduation. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them maintain a deep love for music throughout their journey.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I would say the biggest risk I’ve taken was pursuing my passion for music education, especially in teaching instruments that aren’t typically considered mainstream. It’s been incredibly fulfilling, both personally and professionally. Opening my own studio to follow that dream was a big leap, but it was worth it—the risk has paid off, and I’m proud of the success I’ve found along the way.
