Conversations with Aleksandar Mijatovic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aleksandar Mijatovic.

Hi Aleksandar, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story begins with a lifelong love for dogs and visual creativity. I’ve always been passionate about animals, especially dogs, and I also had a strong interest in design. A few years ago, I decided to combine those two passions and start creating graphic content specifically tailored for dog breeders and enthusiasts.

At first, I was just designing for fun—flyers, banners, and simple visuals for friends who were breeders. But as more people saw my work, word spread quickly. I started getting requests from breeders all over the world, and that’s when I decided to take it more seriously. I launched my Instagram page @design4dog, and that became the foundation of my small brand.

Today, I work with breeders from various countries, helping them present their dogs and kennels in the most professional and visually appealing way possible. What started as a hobby has now grown into a full-time creative outlet that allows me to combine my love for dogs with the power of design.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like most people who start something on their own, I faced a lot of challenges—especially in the beginning. One of the biggest struggles was getting people to take me seriously as a designer, especially because I work in such a specific niche: dog breeders.

I had to build everything from scratch—portfolio, clients, visibility—while constantly learning and improving my skills. Sometimes work would slow down, or I would doubt whether I could really turn this into something stable. But I never gave up, because I truly enjoy what I do.

Another challenge was balancing creativity with what clients want. Breeders often have specific visions, and learning how to merge my design style with their expectations took time and patience.

In the end, those struggles helped me grow, and they made every success feel even more meaningful.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a graphic designer who specializes in visual content for dog breeders—everything from flyers and banners to branding materials and social media content. My main goal is to help breeders present their dogs and kennels in a professional and eye-catching way, whether it’s for advertising litters, promoting shows, or simply building their online presence.

What I’m most known for is my ability to combine clean, modern design with a deep understanding of the dog world. Since I work in such a specific niche, I’ve developed a feel for what breeders are looking for—whether it’s highlighting pedigree, structure, or show results. I’m also very detail-oriented and always try to make sure that every design reflects the unique personality of the dog and the vision of the breeder.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with clients around the world. I’ve worked with breeders from many different countries, and many of them come back to me regularly for new projects. That kind of long-term collaboration means a lot to me.

What sets me apart is the combination of passion and precision. I truly love what I do, and I believe that shows in the quality of my work and the relationships I build with my clients.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see a big shift in how breeders present themselves and their dogs. The dog breeding world is becoming more digital and competitive, and visual branding is no longer a luxury—it’s becoming a necessity. Breeders who invest in high-quality presentation, both online and offline, will stand out more and gain trust faster.

Social media will continue to play a huge role, especially Instagram and possibly newer platforms like Threads or TikTok. Short-form video and motion graphics may become just as important as static visuals. I think we’ll also see more breeders building personal or kennel brands, just like small businesses do—so things like consistent logos, visual identity, and content strategy will become more important.

From the design side, I believe there will be more demand for customized, mobile-friendly visuals, better integration of storytelling, and even the use of AI tools to enhance workflows. But despite all the tech advancements, I think one thing will stay the same: breeders will still need designers who truly understand dogs—not just design trends. That’s where I think my niche will continue to grow.
