Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Morris.
Lindsay , please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was lucky enough to discover my passion for beauty at a really young age, we’re talking 5 years old. Constantly finding myself deep in my grandma’s makeup bag covered in lipstick and blush. It wasn’t until after college that I made it my career. I am now a full-time makeup artist, wife, blogger, and lover of all things girly.
Has it been a smooth road?
Of course not! I’d like it say it was easy and everything was handed to me, however, it wasn’t. Being a freelance Makeup Artist has taught me patience, the importance of believing in yourself, and that hard work really does pay off.
Any predictions for the industry over the next few years?
Beauty trends are constantly changing. We can thank Kylie Jenner for bringing back the Mauve lip. However, in 5 years – I’m sure we will be back to obsessing over Nudes.
What has been the primary challenge you’ve faced?
Networking/Self-Promotion! It’s exhausting trying to put yourself out there! I started a YouTube channel last year and never realized how instantly shy I become the moment the camera turns on! Thankfully, practice makes perfect.
What advice do you wish to give to those thinking about pursuing a path similar to yours?
In makeup school, I had a teacher tell me – you’ve got to work at it for 5 years before you can even think about giving up. I knew at that moment it wasn’t going to be easy.
I say, never give up. If it’s what you’re passionate about, don’t let anything stop you.
