Conversations with Phoebe Von Satis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Phoebe Von Satis.

Hi Phoebe, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a serial entrepreneur, screenplay writer, author, children’s author, and coiffeuse. I founded von Satis LLC in 2010 as a creative company focused on my writing career, including screenwriting, short stories, novellas, and children’s books. Since then, I have written ten full-length feature screenplays and seven short scripts, many of which have been recognized in film and screenplay competitions around the world.

Over the years, my projects have participated in festivals and competitions including the Beverly Hills Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Screenplay Awards, Berlin International Screenplay Festival, Tokyo Screenplay Awards, London Director Awards, and many others.

In addition to screenwriting, I am also a self-published author and children’s author. For my children’s books, I write under the pseudonym Lilith Ivy von Satis. My children’s stories follow a sphynx cat named Plumeria and her lovable group of animal friends. For my adult fiction and screenplays, I write under my own name, Phoebe von Satis.

Currently, I am seeking sponsorships and funding opportunities to help bring my scripts to the silver screen. I also maintain a GoFundMe campaign dedicated to supporting my independent film projects.

Some of my featured screenplay projects include:

Malibu Madam — a romantic drama about a young woman in the 1960s who enters the high-stakes world of female companionship armed with nothing but a diary and a plan.

Only in Malibu — a romantic drama following a cast of privileged characters whose glamorous lives unravel after their friend is murdered by her wealthy lover.

Gold, Glory & Nobility — an action-packed mythic fantasy about four voyagers who journey across dangerous kingdoms in search of rare treasure, only to discover something far greater.

The Hallmark Couple — a dark drama inspired by the true story of Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein, exploring the rise and fall of an infamous and deeply disturbing partnership.

Split Endz — a drama centered on a young woman who survives WWII only to return home to emotional and physical captivity, forcing her to become her own hero.

The Mint — a time-travel drama about a woman given the rare opportunity to revisit the past, only to discover that even good intentions can alter lives in devastating ways.

Outside of writing, I am also the founder of PlumeriaIvy_Aesthetic(s), my in-home concierge salon business established in 2010. I additionally work out of Giuseppe Franco Salon in Beverly Hills, California. I specialize in color services using Aloxxi hair color, as well as Brazilian Blowouts and keratin smoothing treatments.

Clients can find my work on Instagram and Facebook under PlumeriaIvy_Aesthetic(s). My clientele has taken me around the world, including London, Paris, and Monaco. Appointments are available by call or text at 424-653-8803.

I am also proud to be affiliated with both the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and the Malibu Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce.

My entrepreneurial and creative work has also been featured in publications including Rockstar Entrepreneur by Craig Duswalt, as well as The Hollywood Reporter, LA Weekly, CEO Weekly, Rockstar Keynote Speaker Magazine, and Famous Times.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some of the challenges I’ve been facing recently in my various ventures, I’m currently struggling to attract more clients and expand my reach in this competitive market. I’m passionate about providing exceptional services. There is so much PR & marketing one can invest in.
In addition, I am working on getting my award-winning scripts from page to screen. However, securing sponsorship has proven to be quite difficult. Lastly, I am aiming to achieve at least ten thousand sales for each of my books—both my children’s books and adult novellas and short stories—available on Amazon. While I believe in the quality of my work, I’m finding it challenging to generate the visibility and sales I need.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an entrepreneur, I wear many hats—screenwriter, author, and cosmetologist. Each of these roles allows me to express my creativity in different ways, but what truly sets me apart is the personalized approach I take in my beauty services. I specialize in Nanoplasty, Keratin treatments, Brazilian Blowouts, single process hair color, long hair styling, and makeup. My in-home concierge service is designed to provide convenience and luxury to my clients, and I am proud to offer appointments that can be scheduled as early as 3 AM. All it takes is a simple appointment request, along with a complimentary consultation beforehand, to experience the best in personalized beauty care from the comfort of your own home.

In addition to my beauty services, I am also passionate about storytelling. As a screenwriter and author, I pride myself on my originality. Each piece of writing that I create stems from my own thoughts and imagination, ensuring that what you read is uniquely mine. I believe that authentic storytelling resonates deeply with readers, and I strive to craft narratives that are both engaging and thought-provoking.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Los Angeles is not only known for its iconic landmarks and entertainment industry, but it also boasts some of the most stunning weather you can imagine. The sunny skies and mild temperatures make it an ideal place for outdoor activities year-round. Whether it’s a leisurely stroll on the beach or an adventurous hike through the hills, there’s always something to enjoy in the great outdoors.

One of my favorite aspects of Los Angeles is the abundance of hiking trails. From the breathtaking views at Wildwood Canyon, Backbone trail Kanan, to the scenic paths in Runyon Canyon, there are trails for every skill level. The fresh air and the chance to connect with nature are truly invigorating, and I always come away feeling refreshed. Additionally, the beaches in Los Angeles are simply spectacular. From the soft sands of Point Dume Malibu to the vibrant atmosphere of Manhattan Beach, the coastline offers a perfect escape for relaxation or fun in the sun.

Moreover, if you’re a fan of the arts, I highly recommend visiting The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. It’s my favorite museum in the Los Angeles, dedicated to the history and art of film. The exhibits are incredibly well-curated, showcasing everything from classic cinema to contemporary works. The architecture of the museum itself is a marvel, making it a perfect spot for both film enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
