Meet Cleo Berry of “THE MOMENT” starring Cleo Berry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cleo Berry.

Hi Cleo, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I moved to the BIG APPLE at the ripe age of eighteen. Before graduating from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (NYC), I was booking work as an actor, in National commercials. With a flair for comedy and the ability to create complex characters, I’ve been steadfastly building my entertainment career.

I’ve recurred and guest starred on TV series such as “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me” (Netflix), “Weird City” (YouTube Premium), “Idiotsitter” (Comedy Central), “School of Rock” (Nickelodeon), “House M. D.” (Fox), “Young & Hungry” (Freeform) and more. I gained recognition for my tenor voice while touring with the stage production, “Children’s Letters To God”. I’m honored to be the first African-American to portray “Horton” in a National Touring production of “Seussical the Musical”.

Nowadays, I’m busy building an empire. Beginning with my production company Berry Good Entertainment and our first show, THE MOMENT, a lively entertainment Talk Show and Podcast filmed in the Heart of Hollywood, at the Harte of Hollywood! I created and host the show. I like to call myself “The Host with the Most”. The full first season of the talk show format is available on YouTube. The “audio only” podcast version is currently premiering episodes on all major and most minor podcast streaming platforms. Including Apple Podcast, Spotify, Amazon and many more.

From the comfort of my vibrant dining room, friends and guests from all areas of entertainment, stop by; to discuss CURRENT EVENTS, the INS and OUTS of their industry and especially, the LIVES THEY LIVE! Most Importantly, each carefully curated guest delves deeply into… THE MOMENT that they discovered their Passion and Purpose in life!

“THE MOMENT starring Cleo Berry” is a HOW-TO guide for all creatives who are chasing their dreams in the new era of Hollywood! Those who listen to THE MOMENT, often leave the conversation Inspired, Entertained and Motivated to pursue their passion. Join us on this journey.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, Yes, it’s been a bit of a smooth road to creating my first talk show, THE MOMENT. It’s really been a labor of love! If you’ve watched the show, you might have heard me speak about wanting to host my own talk show since the third grade.

My teacher gave all of the students in her class a historical figure to research and become during an interview segment. I was assigned Oprah Winfrey as well as the host position. I loved coming up with questions for each classmate/historical figure. Since then, I’ve been enamored with figuring out how a successful person gets from the beginning of their career, point A, to the height of their career, point M and how they maneuver to point Z, later.

I’ve had many ideas about how to produce my version of a talk show. I even filmed a small pilot at home, a year before we filmed the first season. I first had to get over doing it independently. After that, joining forces with another powerhouse was a necessity, My “Arkansas Boys State” brother, Byron Thomas, came on board to help film and edit the show. I seriously love learning new things and working with driven peers. Always have. So, hosting has been a fun and incredibly natural fit for me. Along with my acting, writing, directing and singing paths that I’m working on as well!

As you know, we’re big fans of “THE MOMENT” starring Cleo Berry. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At THE MOMENT, we specialize in interviewing Hollywood movers and shakers who are currently breaking through barriers in their respective fields. Most of the guests interviewed during our first season are professionals who I’ve worked with or who I know personally.

Issa Rae has a famous quote, that I’m going to paraphrase. She says to “Build with the people around you. Use your network. Stop reaching up the ladder, praying that someone will look down and pull you up”. So, that’s what we’ve done. We are lifting up and promoting from our inner circle and building an entertainment conglomerate from there. My production company, Berry Good Entertainment, is finally making strides. Won’t he do it!?

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
To do the work!! Be about the work. Everything begins with the work! A quote that I love, from the “Black mother of Hollywood”, Jenifer Lewis, states… “The elevator to success is broken, TAKE THE STAIRS”. It’s as simple as that! I’m hauling my butt up the stairs, at the moment. The calf muscles are activated. I suggest you all do the same.
