Conversations with Tara Devi Ma

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Devi Ma.

Hi Tara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My soul’s purpose to support others as a writer first revealed itself when I was seven years old. I wrote and illustrated it then took it to school. My teacher laminated it then hole punched and together we bound it with red yarn. Later that day, she read my book to the class during story time. Afterwards, she placed it in the reading nook. I was so proud to have my book nestled between Curious George and The Cat in the Hat!

I continued to write and at age 12, wrote my first screenplay for Diana Ross. While I didn’t hear back from her, I felt once again proud that my work traveled past my family’s dining room table.

I am a healer and my mission as a writer is to educate, inspire and entertain others. Everything I have written and published from childhood to present day embodies the spirit of ambitious dreams and boundless existence. Currently I am the author of four books and two screenplays. My published work includes a semi-autobiographical novel series about my life while I worked at the Pentagon “The Lady and Her Pentagon” and a children’s picture and activity book, “The Adventures of Cleo and Sophie – Trip to the Moon”.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been struggles but not with what one might think. The road to publishing has been quite smooth because I yield to the expertise of those who are knowledgeable about self-publishing. And, writing my screenplays and now having them noticed by producers in Hollywood has been a beautiful alignment.

The major struggle was writing and then promoting my work. For the longest time, I put my writing on the back burner, allowing my Pentagon career to take up the majority of my life. I wasn’t being true to my soul’s purpose which showed up so easily when I was seven years old. I feel as though many of us do this, we focus on what is the most tangible thing that validates us, and we lose sight of the thing(s) that truly make our hearts sing.

Recently, after doing a lot of healing work, I was able to say out loud that my biggest joy was writing and I was moving forward knowing that standing in my truth would indeed yield not just the same but greater results than I had seen pursuing a career that did not align with my soul’s mission.

Since doing this, many wonderful synchronicities, opportunities and support for my writing career have easily found their way to me!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My writing specializes in encouraging others to dream big and live limitless lives. I encourage this by helping you to see that first you must reconnect with your essence. Your soul knows and is waiting for you to tap back in and discover who you really are. Once we do this, we can free ourselves from limiting beliefs and truly live!

What sets my work apart from others is my stories teach readers how to do this using alternative healing modalities. These modalities helped me and have helped my clients that I see under my alternative healing practice, Invigorate Your Essence.

My Work: (Written under the name Ericka Reynolds)

“The Lady and Her Pentagon” is a transformative semi-autobiographical series that guides readers on a profound journey toward self-discovery and liberation. The series explores themes of mental freedom, illustrating how the character, Ava, learns to shatter the chains of self-imposed limitations and societal expectations. Ava’s story stands as a testament to the power of alternative healing methods, offering hope and inspiration to those feeling trapped in various aspects of their lives. My aim in writing this authentic and heartfelt series is to encourage you to explore the possibilities of stepping out in faith and trusting the journey, even when the way forward seems unclear. Ava adopts her spiritual name by the end of series just as I have done. Transforming from Ericka to Tara was an intense healing journey and this is shown through Ava as well.

“The Adventures of Cleo and Sophie – Trip to the Moon” is a children’s picture book that encourages children to explore all of life’s possibilities and dream their biggest dreams! It includes activity pages which allow them to continue the story through their lens of creativity and well as memory recognition and coloring pages.

What does success mean to you?
Success is living out your soul’s mission. The journey to obtaining this success may seem long and challenging at times but it is well worth it because when we fully embody our mission, we are free! You see, to get to this point, you have laid down the worry, fear and doubt and you are operating in full trust of God/The Universe/Source/Allah/Jah. Your journey continues as magnificent ascension to greater heights!
