Meet Marjan Mirani of Marjan Mirani DDS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marjan Mirani.

Hi Marjan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story started long before I became a dentist—before the degrees, the Beverly Hills practice, or the polished smile transformations. I immigrated to this country with nothing but a dream and a deep belief in the power of education and hard work. I didn’t have connections or a safety net—I had to build everything from the ground up.

Through relentless studying, sacrifice, and a lot of grit, I earned my doctorate and found my calling in cosmetic dentistry. What drew me to this field was its perfect blend of science, art, and impact—being able to restore not just smiles but confidence.

Today, I own a boutique dental practice where I help people feel seen, cared for, and truly transformed. Every step of this journey has made me who I am—a woman who built her path with intention, compassion, and resilience.

Today, I have the privilege of working with an incredible team and helping patients feel confident, beautiful, and heard—every single day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Coming to this country with nothing meant I had to figure everything out on my own—from navigating a new culture and education system to supporting myself through years of rigorous schooling. I worked hard, sacrificed a lot, and kept going even when things felt uncertain or overwhelming.

After earning my doctorate, the challenges evolved. Building a boutique practice in one of the most competitive markets in the world meant long hours, constant learning, and the courage to lead. There were staffing issues, learning the business side of dentistry, and the constant pressure to perform at the highest level. There were times I had to pivot, reassess, and rework my approach—but every one of those moments helped me grow.

Building a strong reputation in a saturated market took resilience and constant recalibration. There were moments of burnout and self-doubt, but each challenge taught me something crucial about leadership, boundaries, and staying aligned with my values.

Every obstacle shaped me—refining not only my skills, but also my voice, my confidence, and my commitment to the kind of practice and life I wanted to create.

We’ve been impressed with Marjan Mirani DDS, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a boutique cosmetic dental practice in Beverly Hills, where we specialize in smile transformations using veneers, Invisalign, and minimally invasive aesthetic dentistry. What makes our approach unique isn’t just the quality of our results—it’s the way we care. My team and I don’t believe in cookie-cutter dentistry. We take time to listen, to understand the full picture, and to design treatment plans that feel as individual as the patients themselves.

Cosmetic dentistry, at its core, is about more than aesthetics. It’s about restoring a sense of self. I’ve had patients come in hiding their smiles—feeling overlooked, insecure, or dismissed—and leave with a level of confidence they hadn’t felt in years. That kind of transformation is powerful, and it’s what motivates me every day.

My goal is not just to create beautiful smiles, but to help patients rediscover confidence in themselves.

I’m especially proud of the culture we’ve built. My team shows up with heart, precision, and a shared belief that excellence doesn’t have to come at the cost of kindness. It’s a space where patients feel safe, seen, and genuinely cared for—from start to finish.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’ve learned that mentorship doesn’t always look the way we expect. It’s not always a formal relationship or a single person who guides you. Sometimes it’s a conversation that shifts your mindset, a colleague who challenges you to grow, or even a patient who teaches you something about empathy.

When I was building my career, I didn’t have access to the typical networks or shortcuts—so I had to be intentional. I looked for people whose values I admired, who carried themselves with integrity and purpose, and I paid attention to how they moved through the world. I asked questions, stayed curious, and stayed open to learning—from peers, from patients, and from my own experiences.

If I had one piece of advice, it would be this: lead with authenticity. People can feel when you’re real. When you show up with genuine interest, humility, and a willingness to contribute—not just take—you naturally build relationships that are meaningful and mutually supportive.
