We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes and No. I cant stress enough the need for everyone to always be prepared with a second career, talent or skill they can quickly pivot to for income if their existing industry dies.
I am grateful to be resourceful enough to be able to slide from one creative endeavor to another when the time called for it. While I achieved almost everything I ever dreamed of with my photography career I never imaged the once steady revenue stream would come to a halt when technology made it seem easier than ever to create images with a smart phone. As the world became oversaturated with images the perceived value of professional image-making drastically declined. Fortunately, about this time I was ready to expand my creative skills and begin my interior design ventures.

I’m an interior Designer, Event Designer, Vehicle Designer, Photographer and Writer but I am likely most known for my trademark retro style – visible in my vintage imagery, my retro interior designs or the reminiscent tone of my writings. I strive to source or fabricate very unique furnishings at affordable rates. i love repurposing vintage, architectural artifacts into something new. Even with a new Boho Chic or California Coastal design I always find myself infusing a retro item here or there.
I love to work and I’m open to all projects large or small- from a grad student’s l300sq ft oft apartment to a 5500 sq foot, 5-bedroom estate property. I love the challenges of working in small spaces or the luxury of expanding a vision with a larger canvas. I offer affordable, hourly rates or all inclusive packages. My clients can purchase retail furnishings themselves or option to pay me a percentage for wholesale or unique salvaged finds.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Relationships are worth more than money in the bank. Relationships are EVERYTHING. Invest in your clients, your friends and the people you meet. Be honest, ethical and committed to your craft, to the job and to the relationship you have established. It will grow and expand and lead you down amazing, unexpected pathways you never imagined. Do your best work. stay committed, Be reliable. Honor your word and say what you mean and mean what you say. If you screw up a job, FIX IT. Pay for it. Even if you loose, always DO THE RIGHT THING. These are the basic principals for which I live my life.
If you live this way you will never have to advertise your business, You will never go hungry and you will never be alone. And at the end of the day, it feels good to know people have counted on me.
