Exploring Life & Business with Keith Allen Jr. of Keith Allen Business Enterprise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Allen Jr.

Hi Keith, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew in Compton, California! I’m a son of a single mother! I’m proud of my mama and her willingness to push through even with everything she’s been through! I have two brothers, Deshawn and Kevin and a little sister, Destiny. I grew up just like any other kid in the inner city. What seemed dangerous to most was just home to us. I had a good childhood for the most part and my mama and granny made sure my siblings and I didn’t miss out on much. My entire purpose is to empower my community. I feel like Compton gave me so much when it comes to life lessons that it’s my responsibility to give back so that’s what I do. Growing up in Compton, we were taught survival but not prosperity. We lack the resources that teaches us financial literacy and simple things like credit. So I take that personally and as a responsibility to do my part in the city. There’s a lot of people doing great things in the city and I just want to be apart of the solution! So my why is simple, teach my community the game that was given to me and show them how to apply it to their own lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think we all have our own journeys that we must take. My journey has not been easy but I can’t complain because it’s my journey. Of course growing up in a city like Compton, there were many different obstacles that I had to navigate through like gang influence, peer pressure, and just every day family struggles, but what I’m most proud of is whatever decisions I made, I did it my way. Every struggle, every speed bump, every obstacle that was put in my way I made sure to face it head on and that’s what built the person I am today. Struggle builds character, good and bad, you just have to decide if you’re going to sink or swim but the decision is always yours.

As you know, we’re big fans of Keith Allen Business Enterprise . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a professional speaker and I like to think of my self as a life coach as well! I don’t like to use the term “motivational speaker “ because I think motivation only lasts temporarily. My goal is always to instill life pillars into my people with proof of concept. My aim is to teach people to think outside the box, and live outside that box. My 5 pillars to being outside the box are, Be Yourself, Find Your Vehicle, Be Fearless, Get Comfortable With Falling, and Make An Impact! My specialty is speaking to inspiring Entrepreneurs, Students in the education system, and anyone who is struggling to break free from their own fears. I think that what sets me apart from others is I can only teach you what I’ve experienced. Meaning, when I’m speaking to these kids or inspiring entrepreneurs, I’m speaking from my own experiences so I know exactly what they’re going through because I’ve lived it! I think what I’m most proud of is my ability to connect with people. People I speak to can relate to me because I’m able to meet them where they are. What I want the readers to know about my brand is that I’m passionate about my community and speaking life into my people!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe risk taking is pivotal. I don’t believe you can have any real success without taking risks. Everything you want in this world is on the other side of that risk. You have to be willing to bet on something that’s greater than what you see in front of you. My entire success has been predicated on takin risk. I can say that one of my biggest risk was to quit my job at a major company to start my own business. That was the most difficult decision I’ve ever made and at the time it seemed to be the worse decision I’ve made. I wish I could say it was a beautiful story but I’d be lying. It was bad for a long time before it got good. You will find out a lot about yourself when you bet on you and it’s not for the weak. But with persistence, faith, and determination, I can say that it was the best decision I ever made and I wouldn’t change anything!
