Conversations with Jordan Conley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Conley.

Hi Jordan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was undefeated class clown from elementary through high school. I absolutely loved and adored stand-up comedy, but didn’t fully pursue it until I got to college. In college, I truly discovered my passion for stand-up comedy and ended up dropping out of school to fully pursue it. Those first years of doing stand up was a full pedal to the metal grind doing upwards of 2 to 3 open mics at night. Eventually I started competing in festivals and competitions where met my manager which elevated me from just comedian to comedian/actor. I went on be on Season 17 of Americas Got Talent, then starred in a Disney Channel Original Movie “Under Wraps 2”(on Disney plus), and then host a game show with Bear Grylls “I Survived Bear Grylls”(on Max). Now I host a video podcast called Random Fandom which you can catch on YouTube. Still on the grind now working towards a comedy special

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was a very bumpy road. Some of the struggles involved getting fired from my job because they were scheduling me through my comedy shows and I didn’t want to miss the shows so I would call out of work. My losing the job eventually led to struggling to live at home. Take out loans to make rent and buy groceries but all of that while still making it a point to work on my craft of comedy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Stand up comedian and actor. I’m known for doing nerdy comedy, mostly about Disney. I’m really most proud of my dedication. A lot of things in life that I thought I wanted to do, I never fully committed to learning and bettering myself towards it. It would just eventually fizzle out but stand up comedy was that thing that fully captivated me and I’ve put consistent work into it from day 1. What sets me apart is my general upbeat positivity. My comedy stems from taking a positive outlook on life and not being negative. It’s family friendly and really hits home on the idea of being a true nerd who loves Disney.

What matters most to you? Why?
My relationship with God and my family. Both are soo very vital to my success and well being
