Check Out Vivi Henriette’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vivi Henriette.

Hi Vivi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I spent the first part of my life throwing parties and creating a restaurant with friends in Detroit — a place I’ll forever call home, even though I live in LA. At the peak of our success, I had a breakdown, left the restaurant and moved to California.

Astrology found me through a series of strange events , and it immediately became a way for me to make sense of the world. Suddenly I had a map for seeing my own strengths and weaknesses and measuring the tides of my life. Astrology explained why some periods of life felt more fruitful than others; some more painful. And that none of these periods would last forever.

That’s been the biggest gift of astrology: having a tool that constantly reminds me there’s a time for everything and that all difficulties have an expiration date.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
LOL. Absolutely not!

In his autobiography, Strange Cures, Rob Zabrecky talks about transitioning from a career in music to become a fulltime magician and how pretty much everyone but his wife thought he was crazy.
It’s painfully relatable. I lost a lot of friends and acquaintances when I came out as an astrologer. People I knew from my life as a restaurateur, and later as a writer, assumed I lost my mind. And, honestly, sometimes I’m not sure they’re wrong. It’s an odd profession.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a consulting astrologer, I use the tools of astrology to help people tap into their own dynamic maps and navigate the flows of life. I hold space for people when they’re going through difficult periods, help them overcome challenges, harness their strengths and identify what season they’re in. Is this a time to rest or take action? To take risks or cultivate restraint?
In workshops, I use astrology to help people tap into these birth maps and overcome creative blocks.

What are your plans for the future?
By the time this is published, my collaborator Jeramie Bellmay and I will have just launched Astrology As Creative Prompt, an eight week workshop that teaches the fundamentals of astrology through storytelling and play.
It’s a course for anyone who’s feeling stuck creatively – no astrological knowledge required.

We just wrapped up the 1st Annual LA Astro Fest, and we’ve already started working on next year’s festival. That’s exciting!
I’m also excited about the backlog of podcasts I’m about to release, including one with my hero, Susan Miller. Sign up to ART of the ZODIAC on Substack to access my extensive collection of print interviews and podcasts.
What else? My books are open, and you can catch me on Tuesday May 27th at the Philosophical Research Society for the Los Angeles Astro Salon, the monthly salon I host, featuring a new guest astrologer each month.
