Hi Madi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I dressed my dreams. Before I had the words to describe who I wanted to be, I spoke through my clothes — my first form of expression. Fashion was my daily armor, my way of manifesting the person I was becoming. My actions followed, and eventually, my voice found its power.

ClosetsByMadi grew from that conviction. I’m a Midwest native from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communications with minors in Kinesiology and Psychology. At sixteen, in my bedroom, I launched the brand — not just to create clothes, but to build confidence and presence.

As an athlete, my basketball jerseys were my shield: solid, dependable armor that carried me through competition and life. But jerseys aren’t everyday wear. So I asked myself, how do I carry that same power when I step into the world outside the court? How do I armor up in clothes designed to move with me, not weigh me down?

Clothes became my way of showing up before I could fully articulate who I wanted to be. They were a way to manifest my truth. Fashion as empowerment, purpose, and declaration.

That belief is the heartbeat of ClosetsByMadi: fashion as a mirror, a mood board, and a tool for empowerment. Our mission is to create a brand that’s accessible, sustainable, and unapologetically personal. ClosetsByMadi offers more than style; it offers presence and confidence.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
“Chase two bunnies, catch neither.” That saying has been the quiet reminder behind my biggest obstacle—figuring out which bunny to chase. Growing up, I was like Blue Ivy watching Beyoncé, absorbing every move my mom made as she built her entrepreneurial empire. Entrepreneurship was woven into my DNA from day one.

But even with that strong foundation, I struggled to pinpoint exactly where to focus my energy. I knew I wanted to help people, but finding the right path wasn’t immediate. Over the past four years, I’ve been privileged to work with powerhouse organizations like the NBA, NFL, and NCAA Division I athletics, learning invaluable lessons in discipline, resilience, and leadership. At the same time, I pursued becoming a behavioral therapist, blending my passion for people with a desire to make a real impact.

Then there’s ClosetsByMadi—my baby, my form of fashion expression, and my way of empowering others to feel confident. Homegrown in the Midwest, headquartered in Los Angeles.

The challenge has been balancing all these passions without losing focus. But, I’ve learned that you have to trust yourself enough to chase one bunny at a time, because even the fastest hare can’t outrun a divided chase.

Liberation.

The rare, precious freedom to define my own journey and grow on my own terms. It’s waking up knowing I control my story, unbound by expectations or fear. My family is my anchor and my loudest cheerleaders, reminding me I’m never alone on this voyage.

Moving to LA was more than a change of scenery; it was a rebirth, a deliberate step into a bigger version of myself. Wisconsin is where my roots run deep, but this liberation—this power to evolve, to take risks, to rewrite the narrative—that’s what truly fuels my soul.
