Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Landis.
Hi Leslie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We’re a small independent gift shop in Los Angeles started by friends who believe all the best things are either picnic or art supplies.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Getting to know our neighbors and bringing people together with our in-store events has been a joy.
Our build-out took about three months and was made possible by friend of the shop Scott Caputo. We’re flattered when people ask how much of the store details are original to the building, because it was a white box when we moved in.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Brick and mortar retail shop designed for in-person shopping and mingling. We were aiming for a clubhouse with a gift shop and are proud to say we’ve achieved it with a great mix of collected delights, a cozy space and public events.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Founders Leslie Landis and Drew Vuong met in Orange county as ravers in the 90’s. Through our involvement in the vintage moped community, we met friend and artist Hilary Andrew. Together we are Picnic and Art Supplies.
