Life & Work with Raven Armando Astone of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Armando Astone.

Hi Raven Armando, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Ever since I was a kid, I always liked making my friends laugh. I was an active child and started Tae Kwon Do and became the Australian Champion. My idols were Bruce Lee and Jean Claude Van Damme and I grew up wanting to be like them. I guess being an entertainer is in my blood. I was voted Mr. Figure Fitness, which led to me being cast to star in Australia’s hit show The Thunder from Down Under. This gave me the opportunity to travel and perform to audiences around the world. Thunder from Down Under was given a permanent residency at one of the Las Vegas Casinos, which open doors for me to move to America to perform in the new show in Las Vegas Nevada. I love performing and decided to pursue my true passion for acting in Hollywood. Like my idols, I want to become a action star and be a hero for kids to look up to.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being creative: As a writer, actor, stunt choreographer, there are always challenges, but under extreme pressure, coal turns into diamonds. I feel I am a rough cut diamond being polished to shine.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What sets me apart as an actor, writer, and stunt choreographer? I recently wrote all the action sequences for a feature film script based on a historical event. Because I am experienced in stage combat, and performing fight scenes. I am able to put pen to paper and describe what needs to be written to create an exciting scene for the script. I am excited to perform and love working with other creative fight choreographers. I understand camera angles and know how to shoot scenes so the action is realistic when you see it on your screen, either in the theaters or television.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Los Angeles
What I love about our city is the weather, the city lights, the industry events, opportunities in the film industry. The people you get to meet who are considered “celebrity” but are “normal” and humble people who become your friends. Sharing camaraderie with like minded people.

What I dislike about our city is the drugs and homelessness. You see it on the streets even in nice neighborhoods like Westwood and Beverly Hills.
People committing crimes for necessities just to survive. It was sad to see a mother and young child at Trader Joe’s where the lady had a shopping cart full of food, baby sitting in the area where kids sit. She looked disheveled and literally walked out with the shopping cart full without paying! The security guard let her go because of the kid and stated it was safer that she got the food than to arrest her.
