Check Out Carter Eve’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carter Eve.

Hi Carter, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been drawn to gemstones and treasures from the earth since childhood. Growing up in rural Connecticut, I had a rock and mineral collection and loved entering miniature flower arrangement contests at our local county fair. These early passions naturally evolved into a love for jewelry—small, wearable works of art that combine unique gemstones with fine craftsmanship and meticulous detail.

I studied Jewelry and Objects at Savannah College of Art and Design, where I earned my BFA, and continued my education at Rhode Island School of Design, focusing on Jewelry and Metalsmithing. From early on, I knew I wanted to create my own line of fine jewelry. After college, I began crafting custom wedding bands and apprenticed with a master jeweler in Miami, Florida. That hands-on experience shaped the foundation for what would eventually become Carter Eve Jewelry, officially launched in 2013.

Since then, Carter Eve Jewelry has been a growing, evolving expression of my creative vision. From my core collection of handcrafted fine jewelry—made with love in Los Angeles—to bespoke engagement rings and sentimental redesigns using heirloom stones, each piece is a reflection of my deep passion for this craft.

Every aspect of the business—from design and production to client relationships and marketing—is a labor of love. It’s taken persistence and resilience to get here. Entrepreneurship has taught me that the journey comes with both highs and lows; what matters is showing up, staying inspired, and making the most of every moment—even the quiet ones.

At the heart of it all is my love for jewelry-making. Remembering why I started keeps me grounded and drives me forward every day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While Carter Eve Jewelry has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of, the path here hasn’t always been easy—or linear. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced my share of challenges: times when orders were slow, when I questioned if I could really make this dream sustainable, or when production setbacks tested my patience and resilience.

In the early days, I wore every hat—designer, maker, customer service rep, photographer, social media manager, shipper, you name it. I’ve navigated everything from gemstone sourcing issues and manufacturing delays to learning the ins and outs of running a business without a formal background in it. There were moments when it felt overwhelming, especially as a one-woman show trying to balance creativity with logistics, and heart with hustle.

There were times I worked out of tiny home studios, stayed up all night to meet deadlines, or poured my energy into collections that didn’t sell the way I hoped. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve felt burnout. I’ve had to reinvent parts of my business to stay aligned with my values and vision.

But through it all, I never lost sight of why I started: to create beautiful, meaningful jewelry that lasts—and to build something that’s mine. Every setback has taught me something valuable. Every slow season has offered space to reflect, reset, and refine. And every challenge has made the wins that much sweeter.

Entrepreneurship is a wild ride, but it’s one I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a fine jeweler and designer based in Los Angeles, and I specialize in creating meaningful, heirloom-quality pieces that celebrate love, milestones, and personal stories. At Carter Eve Jewelry, I design and handcraft everything with intention—whether it’s a custom engagement ring, a wedding band, or a unique piece featuring a sentimental stone from a client’s family.

I’m known for my attention to detail, my deep respect for craftsmanship, and my ability to work closely with clients to bring their visions to life in a way that feels personal and elevated. I love working with natural gemstones and incorporating thoughtful, sometimes subtle design elements that make each piece feel truly one-of-a-kind.

One of the things I’m most proud of is that I built this business from the ground up. It started with a few custom wedding bands and evolved into a full collection of wearable fine jewelry, all designed and made here in LA. I’ve worked hard to create a brand that values connection, quality, and authenticity—and I think that comes through in everything from my pieces to the relationships I build with my clients.

What sets Carter Eve apart is the combination of fine artistry with a deeply personal touch. I’m not just making jewelry—I’m helping people mark the most meaningful moments in their lives with pieces they’ll treasure forever. That’s what drives me every day.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t just measured in milestones or metrics—it’s found in the quiet, meaningful moments. It’s the message from a client who tells me their ring brought them to tears, or that they’ve worn a piece every day since it arrived and never take it off. That kind of feedback means everything to me—it’s the heartbeat of my work.

Success is creating something that becomes part of someone’s story. It’s knowing that the care, thought, and intention I put into every detail is felt and appreciated. When someone takes the time to write a kind review or share how much their piece means to them, it reminds me why I do this—and that the energy I put into my work is coming full circle.

It’s also about staying connected to my creativity, continuing to grow, and holding on to the passion that started it all. To me, success is being able to build something lasting and meaningful—with love, purpose, and a little bit of sparkle.
