Today we’d like to introduce you to Ines Belayouni.
Hi Ines , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Tunisia, where music was a part of my life from a very young age. I began singing at just three years old. What started as a natural form of expression eventually grew into a deep passion. At 18, I began pursuing music professionally, taking vocal courses and performing live.
In 2018, I made the pivotal decision to move to Los Angeles to fully dedicate myself to a career in music. The transition wasn’t easy, but it allowed me to immerse myself in the industry, collaborate with diverse talents, and continue the journey of finding my voice as an artist. I sing in five languages; English, French, Arabic, Spanish, and Italian, which has become a key part of my identity and allows me to connect with a wide range of audiences.
I would often come up with melodies by humming, and my producer played a key role in transforming those raw ideas into fully realized compositions. I released “Attention” as one of my early tracks, and later came “Dance ” and more to come soon!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many independent artists, I’ve faced my share of challenges and still facing a few, especially starting out in a new country. Moving from Tunisia to Los Angeles was a huge leap, and while it opened many doors, it also came with a lot of uncertainty, and moments of deep solitude and doubt.
Finding the right people to collaborate with, defining my artistic direction, and learning how to navigate the industry without a team or manager were all part of the struggle. There were times when I felt lost creatively or questioned whether I was on the right path. Releasing a song like “Attention” and not seeing it take off the way I hoped was discouraging, but it taught me resilience. The recognition it did receive reminded me that progress doesn’t always come in big waves.
There’s also the constant pressure to stand out while staying true to myself, especially as someone who sings in multiple languages and represents a blend of cultures. But those same challenges have shaped my identity as an artist. They’ve pushed me to be more intentional, more creative, and more fearless.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer-songwriter and recording artist who creates music that blends emotion, rhythm, and culture. My multilingual ability is something I’ve naturally embraced as part of my identity. It allows me to reach people from different backgrounds and connect with them in a personal way, no matter where they’re from.
Musically, I gravitate toward pop, a bit of R&B with a soulful edge. I usually start with melodies that come to me naturally, often just humming an idea and then work closely with my producer to bring those ideas to life. I write about real experiences, emotions, and the things that shape me.
One moment I’m especially proud of is being chosen to record the French intro for Usher’s mini-residency in Paris in 2023. It was a small role, but for me, it was a big validation. Being trusted to represent an international artist’s vision, felt incredibly meaningful.
What sets me apart is that I’m not trying to fit into one mold. I’m blending cultures, languages, and sounds to create something honest and borderless. We are still a very small team, but I’ve stayed committed, open to growth, and passionate about creating music that resonates.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve always seen risk as a necessary part of growth. I’m a pusher, I constantly push myself to the limit, and I never give up, no matter how difficult the road gets. Every small achievement, every milestone, feels like a victory to me because I know the amount of effort, discipline, and heart that goes into it.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was leaving my home country, Tunisia, and moving to Los Angeles to pursue music. I didn’t have a clear roadmap or a guaranteed outcome, but I believed in my purpose and was willing to step into the unknown to chase it. That decision changed everything for me. It forced me to grow, not just as an artist, but as a person.
I’ve never been afraid of taking risks. And even in moments where fear does creep in, I choose to act anyway. That’s how I measure courage not the absence of fear, but doing what needs to be done despite it. I work hard, stay focused, and push through every challenge with the belief that something meaningful is on the other side.
