Conversations with Rami Elhusseiny

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rami Elhusseiny.

Hi Rami, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Egypt, finished high school with a French Baccalaureate, and went on to study Architectural Design at the American University in Cairo. After graduation, I jumped right into the family business, helping build large development projects like schools, residential compounds, and hospitals across the Middle East—an experience that taught me the real-world impact of great design and teamwork.

Curious to see more, I moved to Paris, France to work as an architect and then spent a few years traveling and working across European countries, soaking up new cultures and ideas.

Eventually, my journey brought me to Los Angeles, where I pursued an MBA to sharpen my business acumen. Here, I worked as an architectural project manager for a few different companies and, on the side, discovered a new passion: flipping houses. I quickly fell in love with the process of transforming properties and realized that my architectural background gave me a unique edge in spotting potential and envisioning possibilities.

That’s when I decided to take the leap into real estate, earning my license and shifting my focus to helping others find and create their dream spaces.

I love traveling, and my Frenchie is my loyal sidekick, joining me on adventures wherever I go. My journey has taken me from Egypt to Europe to LA, and I’m excited to see where it leads next.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t trade the challenges for anything. Moving from Cairo to Paris and then to LA meant constantly adapting to new cultures, languages, and professional environments. Each transition came with its own hurdles—like building new networks from scratch and proving myself in highly competitive markets.

There were times when projects didn’t go as planned or when I felt like I was starting over, but those experiences taught me resilience and adaptability. Every challenge pushed me to grow, and looking back, I see those struggles as key turning points that helped shape who I am today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently work as a Realtor in Los Angeles, specializing in both commercial and residential properties. At the same time, I am the Marketing and Communications Director for my family’s business in the Middle East, where I help oversee and promote large-scale development projects.

What truly sets me apart in the LA real estate market is my background as an Architect. My design expertise and attention to detail allows me to see the potential in every property and offer clients a unique perspective—whether they’re looking to invest, renovate, or find their dream home. I combine this with strong marketing skills and a global outlook, thanks to my ongoing work in international business.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
For me, adaptability is the most important quality. Being able to adjust quickly to new challenges, markets, and cultures has helped me find creative solutions and grow both personally and professionally.
