Hi Elina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey started with a deep passion for wellness, beauty, and helping people feel confident in their own skin. With a background in healthcare administration, I became increasingly aware of the importance of clean beauty, minimizing harsh chemicals, and protecting the skin from UV damage. This knowledge inspired me to create Elina Spray Tan LA, a business dedicated to providing natural, sustainable, and high-quality spray tans -a healthier alternative to UV exposure.

My mission is simple: help people find their glow—physically and mentally. Whether it’s for your daily radiance, a red carpet event, or a special day, I want you to embrace your glow, tan with confidence, and unleash your inner radiance.

Today, I run Elina Spray Tan LA in West LA and Arcadia studios, offer mobile services, and host wellness and beauty events that integrate clean beauty, mindfulness, and holistic self-care. Your glow is your confidence, and I’m honored to be part of each client’s glowing journey. My purpose has always been to empower others—through beauty, confidence, and personal growth. And I’m truly grateful to be on this journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest learning curves in my journey as a spray tan business owner has been educating people on the dangers of UV exposure and the importance of clean beauty. Many still associate tanning with hours in the sun or using tanning beds, unaware of the long-term risks. Living in sunny California, where the sun is out most of the year, has made me even more passionate about spreading awareness—because even on cloudy days, skin protection is crucial.

Through conversations with my clients, I’ve realized that many misconceptions still exist. Some believe that the longer they stay in a tanning bed, the longer their tan will last, not realizing that tanning beds cause genetic damage to skin cells, accelerate aging, and significantly increase the risk of skin cancer. In fact, 9,500 people are diagnosed with skin cancer every day in the U.S., and indoor tanning is a major contributor.

Interestingly, I was surprised by the number of male clients who choose spray tanning specifically to avoid UV exposure. This reinforced my belief that people are open to healthier alternatives—they just need the right information to make an educated decision about their skin.

For me, it’s been a fun but important learning curve to find the most effective way to present this information—making it engaging, simple, and actionable. My goal is to help people enhance their look safely, so they can feel confident knowing they’ve made the best choice for their skin.

At the end of the day, it’s about more than just a tan—it’s about confidence, wellness, and self-care. By sharing valuable information, I help people make informed choices that allow them to glow from the inside out, feel great, and minimize harm.

For anyone just starting out in the beauty industry, my best advice is to stay authentic and always keep your clients at the center of everything you do. Build genuine relationships, consistently deliver exceptional service, and always listen to their needs. It’s important to remember that education is key to success. I continuously take master classes and business coaching calls to stay updated and enhance my skills. This not only keeps me at the top of my game but also ensures that I’m offering the best services possible.

One thing I always tell those I train is to take that first step—even if you’re starting from scratch. Growth is a journey, and each step you take is an investment in yourself and your future.
