Rising Stars: Meet Sahar Qabazard of Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sahar Qabazard.

Sahar, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am the daughter of the legendary Iranian singer, Mahasti, and I have made it my mission to continue her legacy by sharing never-before-seen pictures, videos, and personal memories with my Instagram audience. Growing up with such an iconic figure shaped me in ways I am still discovering. For years, I kept much of this part of my life private, but as I’ve grown, I’ve realized the profound impact my mother had—not just on me, but on generations of fans.

My deep appreciation for the arts, music, and Iranian cultural heritage has only intensified over time. After spending decades away, I recently returned to Los Angeles, which reignited a sense of purpose in me—to celebrate, preserve, and share my mother’s legacy in a way that resonates with a modern audience. This journey has also helped me embrace my own voice, my own creativity, and even explore new avenues, such as singing my own music. It’s been a beautiful, unexpected evolution, and I’m just getting started.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any personal or creative journey, it has had its share of challenges. When I first started sharing my mother’s legacy on social media back in October, I had no idea how it would be received. To my surprise, the outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming, and it’s given me the confidence to keep going.

However, stepping into a public space after keeping my life private for so long has been an adjustment. Balancing authenticity with privacy, learning the ins and outs of social media, and embracing new creative opportunities—like the idea of recording my own music—have all been exciting but also intimidating. I know there is so much more to learn, and I welcome the journey with an open heart.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What truly sets me apart is my firsthand experience growing up in the world of Persian music and culture. My mother and my aunt were both iconic figures, and I had the privilege of witnessing their artistry up close. My audience is deeply curious about what it was like to grow up in such an environment, and I do my best to share these memories—through physical artifacts like photographs, clothing, and personal stories that would otherwise remain unseen.

But beyond just storytelling, I see myself as a curator of nostalgia—bringing back memories for those who grew up listening to my mother’s music while introducing her legacy to a younger generation.

One of the things I am most proud of, however, is something much closer to home: raising two daughters. For many years, my focus was entirely on my family, and now that they are older, I feel ready to step into this new chapter of my life—one that allows me to explore my own passions while honoring the past.

What does success mean to you?
For me, success isn’t just about external achievements; it’s about the personal fulfillment that comes from giving something my absolute best. No matter what I take on, whether it’s raising my daughters, sharing my mother’s legacy, or pursuing new creative projects, I commit myself fully.

I’ve always been competitive with myself, constantly pushing my limits. As a former competitive tennis player, I was relentless in my drive to improve, and I bring that same intensity to everything I do. Success, to me, is the feeling of knowing that I left nothing on the table, that I gave something my all and walked away with no regrets.

Right now, success also means creating something meaningful that stands the test of time, just as my mother did. If I can inspire others, preserve a legacy, and carve out my own creative path, then I will consider that a true achievement.
