Hi Atie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
You know, looking back, I think I was always meant to do this. From the time I was a kid, I had this deep love for anything that had to do with art. And that passion for creating beauty in every form never left me. So, when it came time to choose a career, interior design was the natural path. I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture at Woodbury University, and that’s where everything really started coming together. I wasn’t just learning about design—I was discovering how to bring emotion into a space, how to tell a story through textures, colors, and form.

Fast forward to today, and I’m the founder of Eleganza Rooms, where I specialize in modern classic interior design. But more than that, I create quiet luxury—a feeling of timeless elegance that isn’t loud or overdone, but deeply personal and refined. My work isn’t just about making things look good; it’s about making a space feel like home. Every project is a collaboration, a journey of discovering what makes my clients them, and then weaving that essence into their home.

Because to me, interior design isn’t just about pretty things—it goes beyond the surface. It’s not just shopping for furniture or picking out decor. It takes a plan, a flow, a concept that interior styling embraces wholeheartedly. Great design is about understanding you—your needs, your tastes, your lifestyle. It’s about crafting a space that doesn’t just look stunning but feels right, a space that supports the way you live and reflects who you are at your core. That’s the magic of it. It’s not just a job for me; it’s a calling. And honestly? I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh, definitely not a smooth road—but I think that’s true for most entrepreneurs. One of the biggest challenges was building my interior design business while working full-time—it was a tough balancing act. Time management was always a struggle, and it often felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day.

But beyond just the time constraints, one of the biggest hurdles was navigating the business side of interior design. I had to figure it out on my own. University taught me design, but it didn’t prepare me for pricing, marketing, or running an interior design company.

So, I became a student all over again—diving into learning, reading books, enrolling in courses, joining industry groups, and seeking out as much knowledge as possible. And honestly, I believe learning never stops. No matter how many years you’ve been in business, growth comes from constantly evolving, staying curious, and adapting to industry trends. That’s what keeps pushing me forward.

What are your plans for the future?
My vision extends beyond designing beautiful spaces—I’m dedicated to redefining how luxury is perceived in modern luxury interior design, shifting away from excess and opulence toward something more refined, intentional, and deeply personal.

Currently, I’m focused on expanding our connections and deepening our collaborations with builders, realtors, and contractors who share our passion for modern luxury interior design and timeless aesthetics. I’m also expanding from e-design to full-service interior design, which allows me to bring elevated, high-end interiors to life with a more hands-on approach.

In addition to our design projects, I’m focused on growing our presence in Los Angeles and expanding our email newsletter community, where I share exclusive tips and insights on modern home decor.

Another exciting venture is building our audience on Medium, where I write about sophisticated interior design trends, timeless aesthetics, and the art of creating a cohesive home.

What truly drives me is the ability to turn ideas into reality—to see a space evolve from a concept into a personalized, breathtaking environment that reflects the essence of my clients. At the heart of it all, the most rewarding part of my work is witnessing the joy and transformation that great design brings.
