Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Mass

Hi Emily, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I moved to Los Angeles in 2019, I started working in film production. After almost a year, Covid put everything on pause, giving me time to reflect on what I truly enjoyed. I realized that even after long days on set, I’d come home and organize my space — I loved it! Around that time, shows like “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” and “Get Organized with The Home Edit” inspired me to turn that passion into a career.

In early 2021, I launched Spaces By Emily as a one-woman operation. Today, we’ve grown to a team of five and are proud partners with The Container Store as In-Home Organizers.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We’ve been fortunate to work with incredible clients who are genuinely grateful for our help. Of course, running a business comes with its challenges, and growing a team has been a big learning curve — but I’m enjoying the journey!

We’ve been impressed with Spaces By Emily , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Spaces By Emily is a Los Angeles-based professional organizing service that helps clients bring order to their homes through decluttering, sorting, and creating functional systems. We know that organizing isn’t one-size-fits-all — our team designs customized solutions that align with each client’s lifestyle, ensuring they work seamlessly and last long-term.

We’re known for genuinely caring about our clients’ well-being. Organizing is a personal process, so we make sure to take the time to listen to the client’s needs and make them feel comfortable throughout the whole process.

As a team, we’re incredibly proud of the impact we make in our clients’ lives. Seeing their relief and happiness when their spaces are transformed is the most rewarding part of what we do. Our clients come from all walks of life, each with a unique story. Being trusted to support them through life’s most personal transitions — whether it’s setting up a nursery for a baby’s arrival or helping them settle into their new home after a big move — it’s a privilege we don’t take for granted.

We want people to know that organizing doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Our approach is supportive and judgment-free, focused on creating systems that work for you. Whether it’s a single closet or a whole-home reset, we’re here to make the process simple and stress-free.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending the holidays with my family. My parents made them feel so special with lots of traditions, and as a kid it was always something I looked forward to!
