Life & Work with Allie Laliberte of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Laliberte

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I always grew up being the artsy kid. I tried every art imaginable – singing, guitar, acting, theatre, design, painting, drawing. Once I tried dance, it just stuck. It just made sense.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The town I grew up in was very small. My dance training was limited due to being so far away from high quality training. Not to mention the large financial strain dance took on my family. We didn’t have a lot of money, nor did my parents have a lot of free time to drive me to the city for dance. So as I got older, I began taking things into my own hands. I paid for any extra classes or training, I drove myself 2 hours to Toronto – the closest city to my town – to get the best training I possibly could. It was a difficult start to the dance industry but extremely worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in commercial hiphop and artists work. My main projects being music videos, award shows, live performances, commercials and tours. Some of my credits include dancing for Drake, Rihanna, Shawn Mendes, Ricky Martin, Doja Cat, Missy Elliot, on the Grammys, AMAs, EMAs, Britt Awards, on tours and in a Pepsi commercial.

What matters most to you?
The thing that matters most to me is (although super cheesy) art. I always say it’s the closest thing we have to magic. I’ve spent my whole life indulging in the arts and still get blown away how a single song can bring up such emotion, how watching certain people move can change your life. I think it’s incredible & truly believe the most important thing in the world is art. It’s what makes us human. It’s been the thing I lean on over and over again and it’s never failed me.
