Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianne Dudra
Hi Brianne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
When I first started out in the entertainment industry, I was initially scouted in a Target with my mom for a commercial in Santa Clarita, CA in 2006. I was picture picked out of 15 faces after that casting call, and then began acting on film sets soon after. The first set I ended up working on was Mad Men in 2007. I did a range of background and a few feature roles until 2014 when I put my acting on hold to go through high school. I still pursued the arts between theatre, choir and dance, until I graduated in 2018 and then spent the next 3 years at AMDA: College of the Performing Arts in Hollywood, CA, graduating with my BFA in Oct of 2021. I began my modeling and photography careers simultaneously during my senior year of college, and in Jan 2022, I attended Coco Rocha Model Camp and was trained by supermodel Coco Rocha. After being signed by a modeling agency, I learned the in’s and outs of the modeling world. Through this, I was inspired to also invest in photography to help assist in my modeling for my portfolio. I quickly began to realize how much I loved photography as an art form as well, as I was so used to being in front of the camera, so being behind the camera was a nice artistic change. Since then, I have juggled my acting, modeling, and photography–now adding in content creation– as I continue to grow myself and my businesses to reach fellow creatives to help bring art to life both in front and behind the camera.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think the hardest thing about the industry is that there is no direct stability or guarantees, as we’ve seen between trends, strikes, you name it. You will learn a lot through trial and error, even with the people who want to help you–whether they are genuine or not. Unfortunately, it is inevitable that you will get burned a few times in the industry, but trying to keep a positive outlook and seeing it as a learning experience is going to help immensely. I would also say that since I was in the industry for so long, I think learning what you want to brand yourself as is a struggle because as a human you are constantly growing and changing, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in acting, modeling, content creation, and photography. I own my own photography business: Brianne Dudra Photography (@bridudraphoto) to which I do headshots, editorial styles, portraits, BTS, and occasional events.
For modeling, I am proud to say that soon after I did Coco Rocha Model Camp, I was signed by Hannah Noelle Models and I walked in LAFW in March of 2022 for Elie Baleh. I currently work with wonderful photographers and love getting to be so creative with shoots. I would say that my favorite acting project I worked on was Little Fockers (2010). We shot the giant party scene for over a month and it was one of my favorites projects I have been apart of due to the cast, the extravagant set and all the friends I made during that time.
Having a versatile knowledge both behind the camera and in front of it, I feel gives me a unique perspective and an eye for things that others might not catch right away. It also comes in handy when I am working with new clients who maybe aren’t as comfortable yet in front of the camera, and I can assist with helping them with some techniques that will bring their comfortability and confidence up!
What matters most to you?
At the end of the day, what really matters most to me is happiness and freedom for not only myself, but for my friends and family as well. I find that when you allow yourself to be happy, even for the littlest of reasons it changes your entire perspective on life and the way you go about your day to day. Freedom goes hand in hand with happiness to me, for as long as I allow myself the freedom to creatively express as I wish to, or just to live in my truth everyday in general, I think I’m leading a good life.
