Hi Matt, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my legal journey with a deep interest in real estate and land use, which led me to work at respected institutions like Sheppard Mullin and the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office. These roles gave me hands-on experience navigating complex real estate transactions, zoning issues, and land use regulations. While I loved the technical and strategic aspects of that work, I found myself wanting to connect more directly with people and make a tangible difference in their lives.

That realization inspired me to found Solum Space Law, a practice where I could combine my expertise in real estate, land use, and personal injury law with a passion for helping individuals and families. I discovered a true calling in contingency work—fighting for those who might not otherwise have the resources to pursue justice. Whether representing victims of car accidents or slip-and-falls, or standing up to unjust HOAs on behalf of homeowners and condo owners, I take pride in delivering fair outcomes for my clients.

At Solum Space Law, I have built a practice that focuses on providing modern, strategic legal services with a personal touch. My background has allowed me to work on everything from high-value real estate transactions for institutional investors to advocating for everyday individuals seeking justice. I believe everyone deserves access to excellent legal representation, and I strive to make my clients feel heard and supported throughout the process.

Education has played a big part in shaping my career. I earned my Juris Doctor from UC Hastings College of the Law and my Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California’s Sol Price School of Public Policy. That combination of education and experience gives me a strong foundation to tackle even the most complex cases, but what drives me every day is my clients’ trust and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their lives.

At the heart of Solum Space Law is a simple vision: to provide tailored, effective legal solutions while advocating for fairness and equity. Whether I am negotiating a settlement, fighting for justice in court, or guiding a client through a complicated zoning issue, I am deeply committed to their success. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has It Been a Smooth Road?

The journey has been far from smooth, and I truly believe those challenges are what allow me to connect so deeply with my clients—and even opposing counsel. Nothing in my life has come very easily. I am an immigrant who faced significant hurdles early on. I struggled so much in school that I was held back in the second grade. Since then, I have experienced numerous setbacks, all of which have shaped who I am today—not just as a lawyer, but as a person.

Most people look at my LinkedIn profile and see a polished picture of someone who has achieved consistent success. But that is far from the whole story. My life has been filled with failures, obstacles, and moments where I had to dig deep to find the strength to keep going. What I have learned through all of this is that resilience, persistence, and the ability to fail, learn, and move forward are my true superpowers.

These experiences have given me a unique perspective. I understand what it feels like to struggle, to feel like the odds are stacked against you, and to keep fighting anyway. That empathy and determination fuel my work. I carry those lessons into every case I take, and they shape how I advocate for my clients.

I hope to share more about my journey as time goes on because I believe there is power in vulnerability and connection. At Solum Space Law, I bring a deeply personal approach to my work because I have been in many of my clients’ shoes. While I may not have experienced the exact situations they are facing, I deeply understand the emotions that come with them—whether it is sadness, loss, anxiety, or anger. We have all been there, and that shared experience allows me to empathize and connect with my clients on a human level.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
It is tough to pick a favorite, but some of my best memories are of simple days spent with my mom, dad, brother, and sister. Whether we were out exploring the town, walking to the park, or on a family vacation, those moments of just being together and seeing the world as kids hold a special place in my heart. It was not about what we were doing, but the joy of spending time together as a family and creating memories that still bring me happiness today.
