Today we’d like to introduce you to Faby Sanchez
Hi Faby, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a passion for the beauty industry, and my journey began in the world of makeup. Specifically, I started out in Special Effects and Glam back in 2015. I loved the creativity and challenge that came with transforming someone’s look.
However, with the onset of Covid, the demand for makeup dwindled. But, as they say, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” The downtime actually gave me the opportunity to explore a new skill – lash artistry.
I was drawn to lashing because of its meticulous nature. I loved the precision and attention to detail required to create a lash set. And, as I delved deeper into the world of lashing, I discovered a new passion that really fed my personality as a perfectionist.
Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to call myself a Makeup and Lash artist. I’ve worked hard to hone my skills, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to pivot and find a new passion.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, as any entrepreneur can probably attest to. I’m blessed to be from such a big and beautiful city, but with that comes lots of competition and over-saturation in the industry; which can be a challenge.
Inflation has also added an extra layer of challenge, making it tough to navigate the ups and downs of running a business. But I’m a firm believer that every obstacle is an opportunity for growth, and I’ve tried to approach each challenge with that mindset.
That being said, I’m excited to say that I’m finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. All the hard work, long hours, and sacrifices are beginning to pay off. My business is gaining traction, and I’m getting to do what I love every day – making people feel confident and beautiful through my lash artistry.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a lash artist with a passion for creating custom, high-quality lash looks that enhance my clients’ natural beauty. I take pride in being a versatile artist, always staying up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques. My approach to lashing is intentional and meticulous, ensuring that every lash is perfectly placed to achieve the desired look.
I’m particularly known for my creative and textured (wispy) style sets. I love to experiment with different colors, curls, and designs. Whether it’s a subtle, natural look or a bold, glamorous statement, I’m dedicated to bringing my clients’ vision to life.
What sets me apart is my attention to detail, my ability to listen to my clients’ needs, and my passion for continuous learning and growth. I’m always looking for ways to improve and expand my skills, which allows me to offer unique and personalized lash experiences that keep my clients coming back.
Another thing that sets me apart in the industry is the close, personal relationships I’ve built with each and every one of my clients. To me, they’re more than just clients – they’re like family. I take the time to get to know them, understand their unique needs and preferences, and tailor my services to make them feel seen, heard, and valued.
I believe that this personal touch is what keeps my clients loyal and happy, and it’s something that I’m deeply proud of. In an industry where it’s easy to get lost in the noise, I’ve made it my mission to create a sense of community and belonging with my clients, and I feel grateful to have such a wonderful tribe of supporters behind me.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a mentor and networking have been instrumental in my growth as a lash artist. My advice would be to attend industry events, conferences, and workshops. These events provide a great opportunity to meet like-minded professionals, learn from their experiences, and build meaningful connections.
I’ve also found social media to be a valuable tool for networking. Joining online communities and forums related to the lash industry has allowed me to connect with other artists, ask questions, and learn from their expertise.
In terms of finding a mentor, I would recommend reaching out to someone who you admire and respect in the industry. Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance or advice. Many successful professionals are happy to pay it forward and help others grow.
For me, networking has been about building genuine relationships and providing value to others. By focusing on helping others and sharing my knowledge, I’ve been able to establish a strong network of support that has been invaluable to my success.
