Hi Vika, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Vika Shevi, and I’m a DJ, music producer, and singer-songwriter. My passion for music started in early childhood, deeply influenced by my grandmother. I always dreamed of performing on stage, and by the age of eight, I was already taking vocal lessons and representing my school in city competitions as part of a vocal ensemble. In university, I continued to develop my voice through various vocal groups and performances.

At around twenty, I traveled to Mexico to join a music project, where I was introduced to DJing by a producer from our team. I instantly fell in love with it. Returning home, I took DJ courses, honed my skills, and soon began traveling the world, sharing my music. Today, I find myself in my dream city—Los Angeles—where I’ve dedicated myself to growing as a music producer.

I recently completed my debut album, Magic of You, set for release in the first half of 2025. This project is a reflection of my journey as a DJ, electronic music enthusiast, and vocalist. It’s all about self-love, positive affirmations, and the power of believing in your dreams. I want my music to inspire people to embrace their potential and pursue their aspirations with confidence.

To support my creative vision, I founded my own music label, Vika’s Love Production, which will serve as a platform not only for my releases but also for emerging artists who share the Good Vibes Music concept. I’m excited about the journey ahead and committed to building something truly meaningful through my music.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey hasn’t been without its challenges. In the beginning, I had to work on my character—there were times when I was too direct, and at times, I approached things with a somewhat naive, childlike perspective. Over time, I realized that growth meant shifting from a mindset of taking from the world to giving to it. Initially, I sought validation through music, but now I see it as my way to inspire and uplift others.

I faced moments of self-doubt and comparison, wondering why others seemed to progress faster. Supporting myself financially was another challenge, as DJing didn’t always provide stability, but it opened doors to incredible opportunities and people. My grandmother was the first to invest in my dream, funding my DJ school education—something I’ll always be grateful for.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that comparison holds us back—each journey is unique, and embracing it is key. When you accept yourself and trust your path, everything falls into place.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a DJ, music producer, singer, and songwriter with a deep passion for house music. My core sound revolves around deep house, but I love incorporating shades of afro house into my DJ sets to create a rich and dynamic experience. When it comes to my own music, I’ve noticed it naturally carries old-school house vibes blended with a fresh, modern touch—giving it a unique character that resonates with both nostalgia and innovation. Years of exploring electronic music, traveling the world, and immersing myself in diverse cultures have shaped my artistic identity and deepened my connection to music as a universal language.

What truly distinguishes me is my dedication to Good Vibes Music, a concept rooted in positivity and emotional connection. I see music as a powerful tool—like NLP or hypnosis—that influences the subconscious mind. My goal is to create music that uplifts, inspires, and leaves a positive imprint on people’s lives. Whether through my own tracks or the work of artists I collaborate with, I want listeners to walk away feeling empowered and optimistic.

I’m proud of my journey and the unique perspective I bring—not only as a performer but as a creator who writes, produces, and fully immerses herself in the music-making process. For me, music is a reflection of the soul, and I aim to share authentic experiences that resonate with others. I believe that only by living through something yourself can you truly share it with the world in a meaningful way.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that comparison is the enemy of progress. The key to true fulfillment is accepting myself and my unique journey. Embracing my path, without looking to others, has allowed me to grow, stay authentic, and create with confidence.
