Hidden Gems: Meet Katy Corina Cane of Temporary Housing Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katy Corina Cane

Katy Corina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?

From Dreamer to Doer: The Journey of a Female Entrepreneur

When I look back on my journey, I can confidently say I’m not the same person I was at eighteen. That version of me feels like a chapter from another life—a foundation that shaped who I am today but no longer defines me. My story is one of transformation, resilience, and learning to believe in my limitless potential.

Years ago, I was captivated by the power of mindset and manifestation. It all began when I watched The Secret for the first time. The idea that our thoughts shape our reality resonated so deeply with me that I watched the movie hundreds of times while exercising on my elliptical. I didn’t just absorb the message—I lived it. My goal was clear: to provide a beautiful home for my family, even though I didn’t have the financial means at the time.

Through unwavering faith and visualization, I found the perfect house, initially available for rent. When I met the builder, something extraordinary happened: he offered me the chance to buy it instead. Against all odds, I became a homeowner—a moment that taught me the incredible power of belief.

But owning the home was just the beginning. I realized I wanted to grow beyond that milestone and create lasting financial stability. With the guidance of my coach, Barbara Daoust, and her Thinking Into Results program, I set a bold goal to earn $10,000 per month. This sparked a journey of entrepreneurial discovery. I transformed my property into a high-income rental through Airbnb and film location services, turning a modest $1,000 monthly income into over $10,000 per month net. It was a game-changer.

This success inspired me to help others. My first company, Rent My LA Pad, was born from a desire to teach other homeowners how to maximize their property income. Over time, my vision expanded. I saw an opportunity to make a greater impact by focusing on a niche that combined real estate and compassion—temporary housing for families displaced by emergencies. This led to the creation of Temporary Housing Inc., a real estate brokerage dedicated to placing families in safe, comfortable homes for up to six months. I also launched Cane Properties, helping others invest in real estate to create wealth and security.

Now, with three thriving companies and a TV show sizzle reel in production, I’ve reached levels of success I once only dreamed about. But what I value most is not the success itself—it’s the transformation that brought me here. I’ve grown from someone who dreamed of stability into a leader who helps others achieve their goals.

Being a female entrepreneur isn’t just about breaking barriers or building businesses—it’s about raising the vibration of those around you. My mission is to show others, especially women, that with vision, determination, and belief in yourself, you can create a life that not only fulfills you but inspires others to do the same.

The woman I am today owes everything to the lessons I’ve learned along the way. I’ve left the past behind and stepped into a future of purpose, passion, and unshakable belief in what’s possible. And I’m just getting started.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Absolutely, there were challenges and struggles. In fact, I believe the more you struggle—and learn to be okay with it—the more results you achieve. The key to success is getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. Once I embraced that, I realized I could do anything.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been finding honest and trustworthy people to work with. Building a team is not just about skills; it’s about integrity. Unfortunately, over the years, we’ve had instances of theft, dishonesty, and people not aligning with the values that are critical to our success. Those experiences were difficult to navigate, but they taught me the importance of setting clear standards and expectations upfront.

These challenges have made me more diligent in hiring and building a team that shares my commitment to honesty and excellence. While it hasn’t been easy, I’ve learned that integrity is non-negotiable when it comes to creating a successful business. Those struggles have shaped my leadership and helped me build stronger, more transparent systems for accountability and trust.

Ultimately, the lessons from these challenges have made me and my business stronger. I’ve learned that success comes not just from what you build, but from the people you choose to build it with.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Temporary Housing Inc?

My Newest Endeavor: Expanding Temporary Housing Inc.

My latest and most exciting endeavor is the expansion of Temporary Housing Inc. into a full-scale temporary housing agency. This new branch will work directly with insurance adjusters to place policyholders into homes quickly and efficiently during times of need.

What makes this expansion so exciting is the unlimited reach it offers—not only beyond my current portfolio but throughout the nation and even internationally. By leveraging a growing network of homes and partnerships, we’ll be able to provide housing solutions to families and individuals wherever they are.

This step is about more than just growth; it’s about creating a seamless system that bridges the gap between homeowners, insurance providers, and those in need of temporary housing. I’m thrilled to see this vision come to life and to continue expanding Temporary Housing Inc. into a company that not only serves people in their times of greatest need but also sets a new standard for the industry.

Who else deserves credit in your story?

Acknowledging the People Behind My Success

No one achieves success alone, and I am incredibly grateful to the people who have guided, supported, and inspired me along the way.

First and foremost, my coach, Barbara Daoust, deserves immense credit. For over 12 years, Barbara has worked closely with me, helping me become the successful entrepreneurial woman I am today. Through the teachings of Napoleon Hill, Bob Proctor, and other great thinkers, Barbara has shown me the transformative power of mindset. She taught me that I can achieve anything I set my mind to and helped me see that life’s struggles are not obstacles but lessons. Her wisdom—reminding me that lessons repeat until they’re truly learned—has been a cornerstone of my growth.

The second person who has played a pivotal role in my success is my sister, Regina Cane, who also happens to be my real estate broker and the leader of Temporary Housing Inc. Regina, though initially reluctant to step into this role, has been a constant source of inspiration, pushing me to achieve results and chase my dreams. Her leadership and unwavering support have been invaluable in shaping the success of our business ventures.

Lastly, and most importantly, I want to honor my late mother, Doris Cane, who has been the greatest inspiration of my life. Doris instilled in me the values of integrity, resilience, and hard work, which have been the foundation of everything I’ve accomplished. Although she is no longer with us, her influence continues to guide me every day. Without her love, guidance, and example, I would not have come this far.

These three remarkable individuals—Barbara, Regina, and Doris—have each shaped my journey in profound ways. I owe so much of my success to their belief in me, their guidance, and their unwavering encouragement.
