Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonia Sitak

Hi Antonia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Berlin, but I’ve been always intrigued to move abroad and live different lives in different countries. That’s why I love being an actress as well, it gives me the possibility to travel and sometimes even learn new languages. It never gets boring, and I am scared to get bored, so my job is perfect for me;-)

I will say that my twenties were very much characterized by an academic career and I had put my passion for acting on hold.
At the time I was very much driven by achievement and wanted show the whole world that I got brains, and not only looks.
I did a so-called German/French double-degree in Business Administration, which included studying in Paris at the wonderful university l’INSEEC. It was a tough school, I can tell you that. Back in Berlin I founded my own real estate company, which exists til this day, and started my master in Real Estate Management at the renown university Technische Universität Berlin.

My next step on the achievement ladder was to do a PHD in economics so I enrolled at NYU to collect points for the doctoral program.
End of 2016 I completely changed industries: I left New York City and finally pursued my dream of becoming an actress.
That dream led me to Los Angeles, where I got accepted at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute.
I made friends who I still keep in touch with. There is nothing as formative and exciting as the college years.

8 years and 100+ theater&film and online productions later; I am as passionate about acting as I was in the beginning, maybe even more so. The thrill never gets old.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Especially the first years of my acting career have been very challenging, As a young actress it takes time and experience to find your place in the film industry. With every role I learned something about myself, what are my acting strengths but also what is my branding niche.
I am proud to say that even during tough times, I never took a role that I wasn’t comfortable with. I am not talking success, I am talking artistically. Okay now that I am thinking about, maybe there was one or two projects, that turned out to be weird, haha 😉 I guess that’s just part of the process.
I am all about growth and testing limits, but overall I stick to my values and my visions.
Clarifying your values and vision is so important to keep going and to not grow weary.
I aim to do this for a very long time and not to compromise my intuition is key to it, especially when bigger film projects came knocking at the door.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I think my joy for life is a God given gift. People tell me that my joy is contagious, and I think that’s a wonderful compliment.
I don’t need a reason to be happy, life itself is a wonderful and precious experience and I love to share it with others. I hope to inspire my audience but also fellow actors and get inspired by them as well. We are all creative in our own way and we should nurture it by being courageous.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
A favorite childhood memory of mine includes the father daughter time we spent on Saturdays. My dad and I would go to Berlin’s most famous department store, picture a German version of Harrod’s. I enjoyed watching all the hustle and bustle. It was always a busy department store, with something great to discover on every floor for a young girl. The latest fashion collections, exotic perfumes, jewelry, delicacies and chocolates from all over the world.
We took the glass elevator, which offered a great view, and went up to the top floor for ice cream. I love remembering how my dad spoiled me at those times.
