Check Out Bria Gallardo Macneil’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bria Gallardo Macneil

Hi Bria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, I think it all goes back to having two older sisters. Because of them, I was watching The Real World in kindergarten and designing my MySpace profile in 6th grade. I’ve always loved pop culture, reality TV, and social media, even from an extremely young age, in part because we bonded over that stuff.

I’ve been creating content online since 2018, and it took me until 2023 to realize that tapping into my interests in those areas would help build up my own community online. I started recapping reality TV shows, and then telling stories about social media and influencer culture. It just turned into a situation where I could bond with strangers online over the same things that my sisters and I loved growing up.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been smooth at all. It took me a really long time to learn what it meant to show up authentically online. I had to learn to lean into what I know and talk about a lot in real life, instead of just posting what I thought the algorithm would like.

Honestly, it took me a long time to put the pieces together for what I wanted to do in life, period. I was a low-key job-hopper for 8 years, severely unhappy in corporate America, and just generally really insecure. Building the courage to actually go for what made me happy took a really long time. And when I finally quit my corporate job without any sort of safety net, I was so scared. I didn’t have any excuses anymore to put off actually trying to change my situation, so I had to just say, “Screw it,” and move in my way for once.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a content creator. I produce ads for brands, and I make videos about pop culture, reality TV, and internet history. I’m really proud of the community that I’ve built online. It’s not enormous, but we are so in tune with each other. We get all of the references, we’ve all been online forever, and we have the same sense of humor. I feel like it’s so rare to find people who you vibe with like that in real life, so it’s so cool.

I think that the way I tell stories is a little different than typical TikTok content. I tell the full story, even if it takes 20 minutes, so a lot of people listen to my videos like a podcast while they clean or do their skincare routine. And I always include receipts, proof, timelines, screenshots – everything. Usually, the stories are really petty and ridiculous, so it’s fun to poke fun at them a little bit.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Honestly, I think the nature of my content makes it so most people don’t really know much about my personal life at all. But I’m married, I’m an auntie, I play The Sims, my family is southern. There are probably a lot of things that people don’t know outside of the reality TV-pop culture kind of areas.
