Hi Claudia , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello makers and dreamers!
I am Claudia Pineda, Latina Mompreneur of “Once Upon a Craft!” A small business created for all kids entertainment activities. I became a full time mom when I was blessed with my children but little did I know it would take more than caring for them to fulfill their day! I knew I had to come up with something that would keep them engaged, learning and having fun all at once. I’ve always had a creative side which I think I’ve passed down to my daughter who like many children likes to keep herself creatively busy. We found ourselves crafting and creating every day! I started by putting my own children’s parties together (not really thinking to do this professionally at first) and incorporating activities we would come up with at home. As a result I would always receive extraordinary compliments along with our guests asking if they could have my party planner’s information; well it was ME! From that day on with love, dedication and persistence I’ve had the opportunity to bring happiness to many families through unique activities for their children’s parties.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
A challenge I’ve encountered is learning how to manage my time along with my mommy duties. When starting I would try to do a little of all throughout the day vs finding the area of most demand in my business and simply organizing accordingly. Another struggle I faced was not getting discouraged. Today, social media is part of any party planners success and staying consistent whether you get or not the numerous views, likes or followers is the key; because believe it or not, someone is always watching!

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I have many childhood memories! Most definitely spending time with my family and siblings is definitely one. Another one I enjoyed was playing radio host; laughing as I’m thinking of this as it was back when you had to press play & record at the same time to record on a “cassette”. Fun fact: later in life I did actually work as a Radio Host.
