Conversations with Marc Rob

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc Rob

Hi Marc, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story feels like an ongoing series or movie. The new chapters that I embark on each season takes me on path of learning and evolving. The more I live, the more I learn. The more I learn the more I realize what I don’t know. One thing I know is I am artist at the highest level when inspired. Inspiration is everything. I love the beauties of life and the creativity when one is inspired. Who I am today I’ve come to learn I’ve always been. My peculiarities, my thoughts, my desires. I’ve leaned into who I am unapologetically since I was kid. I never wanted to be anyone other than myself. My journey started at conception. It was a struggle since the beginning. The hardships of growing up in Flint Michigan in a single parent home and what that entails. It shaped the way I view the world. The ugliness of the world was apparent early in the life. But to find the beauty in an environment that was set up for you to fail teaches you to either fall in the same pitfalls or figure something out. I started out writing poetry to reflect the things I witnessed. That developed into journaling. The way I view the world has always been different than others around me. I am just a source of energy flowing through the universe on my own time. Once I connected with my true self I’ve never let go. I never went back. My music is reflection of that. It stands out because it was crafted outside of the matrix. It’s crafted in authenticity. Before everything became so digital. My sound gives you a feeling of nostalgia like nothing you have ever heard. My storytelling can be gritty yet beautiful all in the same time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wouldn’t say its been a smooth road nor a bumpy one. My new perspective on things allows me to appreciate the road and not look at it as good or bad. The struggles are definitely real. The nights unslept, the insane amount of travel, the sacrifice of time for self and my loved ones. The amount of hours put in daily, weekly, every month can take a toll but in the end they are all worth it. This is the price you pay for independence, the price of being an artist. The price of being authentic. I enjoy the highs and lows. The lows are the biggest blessings and that allows you to appreciate the highs so much more.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I write, produce, perform, and create art from within. I design fashion and I’m currently working on a new collection now.
When it comes to my music I take time to craft each syllable and each pause to fit seamlessly inside of the production. I am most proud of the personal connections I have made with each human being while on tour. These connections have been real and they are forever.
What sets me apart from others is my ability to be myself. Nothing about my art is close to what you hear out today. It’s an element of jazz, soul, and my own thoughts which are unfiltered and built in truth which allows me to create freely without judgement. My sound is timeless, transcending trends to offer a rich, multi-layered experience that only deepens with each listen.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
