Rising Stars: Meet Elise DeMae of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elise DeMae

Elise, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started singing at just three years old, with my dad as my first teacher. By the time I was seven, I was attending the Riga Cathedral Choir School, where I immersed myself in classical music before branching out into jazz and musical theatre. After graduating, I felt a strong pull toward pop and R&B, and I realized I wanted to write my own songs. This passion eventually led me to Los Angeles, where I’m now pursuing my bachelor’s degree, creating music, and collaborating with many talented people from all over the world.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has certainly been filled with challenges and various obstacles, especially coming from a small country and striving to make a mark on the global stage. However, as an artist, I believe that with dedication, hard work, and a willingness to adapt, you’re already heading in the right direction.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an independent artist from Latvia, currently based in Los Angeles. I recently released my debut EP, Dilemma, which features six original pop tracks infused with touches of gospel and R&B. Creating this album has been an incredible journey, shaped by my experience of living between two continents. While it’s been rewarding, I know the real challenge begins now.

What am I most proud of? It’s the fact that, no matter how tough things get, I remind myself why I love doing this—and that keeps me moving forward.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy? So many things—spending time with my family and friends, traveling, performing, and witnessing progress in the goals I’m working toward. Honestly, the list could go on forever!
