Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramon Navos-Moral.
Hi Ramon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I think that when you have a set goal in mind, you will always have obstacles and challenges. I think that it is normal and a part of anyone’s journey. The politics, the competition, the rejections – These are all part of the game but honestly, I love what I do so much that I have always been eager to learn from all these challenges. I always believed that we can learn something new each day if we have an open mind and a humble heart. I set a goal, achieve it, and then I set new ones. I always tell myself “Small win, big motivation” whenever I finish a task or reach a set goal regardless of how big or small it is.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I am a singer – songwriter. Right now, most of my songs, collaborations and commissioned work are a mix of all the musical influences I’ve had in my life such as The Beatles, Odesza, Seven Lions, Above&Beyond, Boyz2Men, Dave Matthews Band, Fra Lippo Lippo, Jason Mraz, Kaskade, Nate Dogg, Tupac, etc to name a few. However, I have been in the Electronic Music Scene because I think I have found my niche. My writing style is mostly melodic storytelling based on failed love stories with a touch of rhythm and blues, catchy classic pop tunes and attitude of a 70’s rock balladeer. These were from personal experiences and some are actually love stories (or failed relationships) of people I know but they don’t know that it is actually about them. I tend to hide it through some exaggerations with my lyrics. I think I am able to relay the emotions better with melancholy. I stay true to my vibes and not swayed by what is popular. With that reason, it sets me apart already from others. You will always attract the right ears that vibe with your heart. Music is subjective.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I just want to tell everyone to follow their heart’s desires. There is no right or wrong reasons, only right and wrong attitude. I go to work to feed my tummy and I make music to feed my soul. It is a spiritual thing for me more than anything.
