Meet Pasadena Photographer and Filmmaker: Xareni Penichet

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xareni Penichet.

Xareni, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After my very first photo class in High School in Mexico City, I was hooked. I feel in love with analog, black and white darkroom printing, large format shooting. But once I moved to LA to start my career I immediately had to switch to digital, which made me look at the medium in a whole new way.

Has it been a smooth road?
I think my biggest struggle has been getting the clients and networking. As an artist I find it challenging to sell myself.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and career?
I believe that everything in life is all about timing and sometimes we can’t control that, so that is where luck comes into play.

Is there a quality or characteristic that has played an outsized role in your success?
Creativity, Originality, Honesty, Easy to work with.

Tell us about your favorite and least favorites things about our city.
The best thing about LA is that there is something for just about anybody, the variety of people and things do to is limitless. Unfortunately, LA is a driving city, therefore what I dislike is the long distances and traffic.
