Meet Nicole Cramer of Healthy Steps with Nicole in South Bay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Cramer.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nicole. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I actually started my journey a long time ago, and like many people, it wasn’t a straight shot to get here. In my careers, I’ve been a high school math teacher, a sales consultant for a Fortune 500 company, and a Holistic Health Coach. And now, I’m a sales coach for health & wellness entrepreneurs. Ultimately, I am a health coach who helps other health & wellness professionals learn how to sell. I love what I do and I am so happy that I can help others in the health and wellness field make a bigger impact on the world by working with more clients. I feel that we are on the brink of a major health shift in this world and health coaches are the grassroots army leading the way and guiding people to a better life. I’m so grateful to do work that is helping to improve the health & wellness of the world.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’ve definitely had my fair share of challenges. I always assumed that adults had life all figured out and knew all the answers. And as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized that nobody knows the answers. For me, the answers I’ve discovered are to love more and express more gratitude. Some of my biggest challenges have led to some of my most painful yet beautiful lessons. My challenges include starting a new business, navigating health issues, changing my lifestyle (vegan, plant-based, gluten-free, alcohol free) to support and improve my health, overcoming debt, dealing with addiction, abuse, betrayal, career transition, a cross country move and many other minor things that have helped me learn and grow into the person I am today. I’m grateful for my challenges. Even though they seemed so dire and hopeless at the time, looking back I can totally understand why those things were in my life.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Healthy Steps with Nicole – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My company, Healthy Steps with Nicole, started as a health coaching company. I called it Health Steps because every major challenge I’d overcome or health change that I made to my life, I did it in steps. Nothing was an “overnight success” with any of the changes I made – I had to implement so many things over time and build the habits so that the growth I was looking for was achievable and sustainable.

Once I became a health coach, I realized I was helping a lot of my health coach friends and acquaintances with sales advice. My day job is as a sales executive for a Fortune 500 company and the skills that made me #1 in the country in sales revenue for my company is the same set of skills I now get to teach to health coaches so they can sell more packages and work with more clients. The reason I’m different than other sales coaches is that I have a very realistic and informal approach. I was a high school math teacher for 15 years before going into corporate sales. If I can go from teaching to being #1 in the nation in a matter of two years, then anybody can be good at sales if they’re willing to learn a few basic truths about sales and then practice, practice, practice! I did not become the best at sales because I had all the terms, scripts, and formulas memorized. My sales ability lies in me being myself and having a desire to serve others by sharing my skills. And that’s what I do as a sales coach: I coach my clients through how to be themselves and sell more packages. One of my absolute favorite things to do is to work on overcoming objections. There is an art to it and I’m fascinated with helping my clients deconstruct the objection and figure out what’s really going on and how to overcome it.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m really excited about the opportunity to serve the world in a way that I never would’ve seen for myself. If I hadn’t been so eager to help my health coaching friends, I might have never been clued into the fact that I would enjoy sales coaching. And I also hired my own coach who has helped me considerably with strategy and business growth. She helped me niche down to sales coaching for health & wellness professionals because she saw a passion that I had for doing it. Now that I have found what truly lights me up and has me excited about serving the world, I am building my ideas and inspirations for the future. As of now, I work one on one with my clients and I can see group programs in my future as I scale my business so that I can serve more people. In addition to running my own group programs, I’d like to branch out and do speaking engagements and panels. I really enjoy empowering women and I hope to create more opportunities to serve in that capacity.
