Meet Melina Nasab of Kangaboots in West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melina Nasab.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I got into fitness as a profession because I wanted to share with people the insanely positive mental benefits that exercise provides. The push of going through something uncomfortable, knowing it’s going to make you feel better. The commitment to time in your day that you are spending for YOU and only you. The understanding that physical strength and a healthy relationship with your body feels better than malnourishment. The belief that what you put in is what you get out, and it always gets better.

My whole approach to fitness is about finding something that is FUN for you. There really is something suitable for everyone, whether it is hiking, biking, running, yoga, etc. The time you spend bettering yourself should be enjoyable – it only makes sense, right?

But what if you love running, but have a bad knee? Or if you love HIIT workouts, but have post-injury limitations?

When I discovered that there was a way to enjoy exercise without the worry of inflaming any injuries, I was intrigued. After weeks of testing different exercise methods and techniques with the Kangaboots, I introduced them to my friends and clients. The positive feedback I received was wild and only grew as more and more people got on board with me. I said to myself, I need everyone and everyone to get on board, let’s make this a MOVEMENT. And so it came to be one.

After a short couple of months in spreading smiles and hops, the demand came about for a group class. I immediately got in touch with a couple of my favorite LA fitness studios, and am now hosting my KANGABOOTCAMP™️ class every week! Nothing makes me happier than seeing people fall in love with a form of exercise that works for them. We only have one body to live in for the rest of our lives, and it works so hard to keep us up and at it every day. It’s only fair to give it the love it deserves!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Luckily, it has been a smooth road because I have been locked in on the mentality that if you’re doing what you love and let it unfold organically, everything will fall into place exactly as it should. There is no benefit to worrying about potential failures or comparing yourself to other people in the same industry as you. Everybody is different, on their own path, and like I said before – if you are ultimately happy and love what you’re doing, you are going to attract like-minded people who support that.

Kangaboots – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a personal trainer with a passion for positivity in motion. I am most proud of the growth of the KANGANG MOVEMENT and how it has inspired people to be confident in trying something new.

The Kangaboots™️ by #melinamethod are a shock-absorbing boot that amplifies your heart rate, helps you burn up to 50% more calories during a workout, and the best part is that it is IMPOSSIBLE not to smile. Through bouncing around town with the growing group of KANGANG members, I have turned strangers into friends, friends into family, and have hopefully inspired others to be confident in doing things that truly make them feel like a happy kid again, even if it looks “silly”.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Ultimate success is being able to be a kind person in a world where people are trying to tear others apart. Everybody has a story, everybody has their ups and downs and mood swings, but to take that out on people who don’t deserve it, it’s not fair. A simple smile goes a long way. Your parents taught you manners, use them. Treat people the way that you would want to be treated, and let me tell you – happiness and confidence will always win.
