Today we’d like to introduce you to Meli Malavasi.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Meli. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a singer/songwriter – Vocal Coach. I teach singers how to make singing SIMPLE with my proven action techniques that will lead to their success. I’m also an award-winning Singer-songwriter and I’m passionate about helping artists/songwriters take their songs to the next level.

I started my Vocal Coaching Business about four years ago with a Youtube Channel (www.youtube.com/melimala). My idea was to help as many people as possible to be able to sing freely and inspire people around the world with simple vocal warmup exercises that they could do in less than 10 min. I started this channel with absolutely NO expectations at all! I just wanted to help more people. In time the channel grew very quickly and today it has over 1M views in total and almost 20K subscribers. My secret: consistency. I put a video out every Sunday, I still do that to this day. From there, it grew to be my main source of income and just about a month ago, I was able to quit my day job and dedicate 100 percent of my time to this and to writing songs for Tv/ Ads / Film.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Overall it’s been a pretty smooth road. I feel the challenge is to always keep yourself accountable and post videos, keep singing, keep performing, keep writing songs and sometimes you’re not in the correct mindset but you have to push through. In the beginning, the biggest struggle was to believe in myself. Believe I looked ok when I filmed videos, believe I could write “That” song, believe I can sing great and inspire millions around the world who are waiting for me to step up and guide them. You also need to market your business constantly to attract new clients.

My company is called Meli Music Lessons. I’m a singer/songwriter – Vocal Coach. I teach singers how to make singing SIMPLE with my proven action techniques that will lead to their success. I also help songwriters shape their songs into great ones. My biggest reward is being able to share my knowledge with many people around the world, including top countries like India, USA, Philippines, United Kingdom, Australia, Mexico, Nigeria, Germany, Indonesia, Nepal, Brazil, Costa Rica and many more. People contact me from all over the world and thank me for the videos I do for them every day… I couldn’t ask for more. I feel a lot of people identify with the way I teach. It resonates with them because I demystify the difficulty in singing with step-by-step vocal, easy to follow vocal techniques.

Now I teach and help them become the best versions of themselves when it comes to singing, performing and songwriting. It’s really a wish come true.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would’ve said: JUST TRUST AND DO IT! I thought about it for too long!
