So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The year was 2008, I was living in NY at the time of my ‘big idea’. I had a mediocre job with little personal satisfaction. I wanted MORE out of my career. I was in my mid-twenties, single, and loving life.
My career was my focus, and I was super unsatisfied and BORED. One day while walking down 6th Ave I had the idea ‘I am going to start my own company’. And so, it began! For the next 2 years, I wandered around figuring out my new life as a business owner. I had moved back to California and officially launched my business in Pasadena. I self-funded the whole thing (I didn’t really know any better.) Glad I did, as I am 100% owner – no partners, investors, debt. Although, some capital may have helped me grow FASTER. Every year I doubled revenues, and more recently my revenues have increased 30-40% each year. The journey has been long, I rarely stop to pat myself on the back. I’m always moving forward. Today our team is 9 strong!
Has it been a smooth road?
I’m an optimist, a dreamer, and a free spirit. So I tend to look at the bright side of everything. I would be lying if I said there haven’t been times of ‘AHHH’. My greatest moments of mini-heart attacks came in the form of cash flow issues, payroll, not knowing the next-step, and un-won contracts. I came out of each of those victoriously.
I’ve learned how to budget, not sweat the small stuff, and we constantly are improving our processes to show our future clients that we are the agency for them AND to keep our current clients in love with us.
The key to getting through this is a great support system, mine is NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners)! Between my amazing family/friends, faith, and my NAWBO sisters I generally always feel like I’m titanium!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The answer to both of these questions is transportation. Driving from Downtown to Santa Monica or anywhere on the west side nearly any time of the day requires an extra hour for traffic. Time is my most valuable asset. So what do I LOVE about our city, transportation! I can take the subway, Metrolink, and uber/lyft to get me anywhere. I may still have to be in traffic but at least I’m hands-free. I can rest my eyes, check email, be on my laptop (yup I do this often) … All of this keeps me above the traffic nonsense.
