Meet Laryssa Suaid of rosemansuaidstudio in Carlsbad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laryssa Suaid.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Hi there. This is Laryssa, and I`m 28 years old, I’m from Brasil and I have a degree in Design. I don’t know exactly what kind of Design because I studied it all. It was four years from 8 am until 10:30 pm so it’s a little about everything. I started to work with photos and editing in 2005 when I was 15. My grandpa was the first photographer in my city, and my dad was a photographer too. So, it’s in our blood I think I’ve worked with all studios in my tiny City Uberlandia MG. I came to the USA in 2016 to learn English and I’m pretty sure I need a hundred more years to learn (it is so hard). During this time, I met Brendan, my husband.

I am obsessed with photos and I love to work with this. When I am working, it doesn’t feel like I am really working. I love the place we live in. Carlsbad CA is a beautiful place, but my heart is still in the woods, waterfalls, and Brazil.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One and the first was open a studio in Brasil and study full time at the same time, I used to have just Saturday and Sundays to work and do all homework from my university, the second when my studio was complete and doing ok, I closed to come to the USA to learn English, I sold everything and now I’m just starting over with a new language that I don’t speak well.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about rosemansuaidstudio – what should we know?
I’ve been working with all kind of photograph, I already worked in Brasil with product photography, food, children, maternity, family, wedding, sensual, architecture and photos for interior design, I love all but the 3 that I really like are weddings, product photography (i think this one is because of my degree, I love branding products), and sensual photos for women. I think all women need to do a sensual photo shoot.

I think what sets me apart from others is my experience with studio light and editing. I think in this world now a lot of photographers are just buying a camera and they say they just love natural light and don’t even have one flash. Then they buy a preset and say that was the edited picture.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
